Erica murmured to herself, "It seems that Logan and the others really couldn't stop this... Is our fate doomed?" Although her voice was soft, it struck everyone's heart like a heavy hammer.
Hearing this, Gambit had a bitter smile on his face. He dusted himself off, stood up, and a resolute light flashed in his eyes. "Yes, Logan and the others may really have failed.
But then again, it's an honor to fight side by side with such companions at the last moment of our lives—to let the world remember our names. At least, we'll die for a good cause."
Blade silently tightened his grip on his sword. He was always known for his calmness, but in this moment, he couldn't help but sigh. "Yeah, I wanted to have a drink with my brothers after the war. Now it seems... I'll never get that chance." There was helplessness in his tone, but more than that—a calm acceptance of fate.
The Hell's Kitchen Wolverine quickly pulled X-23 close. "Don't worry, I'll protect you."
As the Aloith approached, a suffocating pressure filled the air.
Main-universe Deadpool looked at the encroaching cloud and shouted toward Black Witch Wanda and Cassandra, who were still locked in a fierce duel.
"Hey, come on, stop fighting already! Can't either of you open a portal so we can escape? If you keep this up, you're both gonna die here!"
But neither of them paid any attention to him. On the contrary, both unleashed even more powerful energy.
They wanted each other dead. Their powers—Cassandra's white telepathy and Wanda's dark chaos magic—collided and clashed in a dazzling explosion of light and shadow, the energies locked in stalemate.
Seeing this, Deadpool shrugged and walked over to help the injured Wolverine to his feet. Then he sat down beside him as if they were watching a show.
"Why aren't you running?" Wolverine asked, eyes still on the monstrous cloud that crept closer like a world-devouring beast. His voice trembled with both anxiety and confusion.
"Relax. I'm just a cameo in this book," Deadpool said, smirking. "The more critical the moment, the more likely the protagonist will show up in style. Me? I'm just here for comic relief."
A heavy silence settled over the team. Gambit, Blade, and the others had seemingly accepted their fates, as though they'd already seen death's face. But then—
"Zzzzt—"
A flicker of light sparked in the sky above.
"Zzzzt-zzzt—"
Then came another, this time arcing out into a perfect circle in midair.
"Whoa, look at that. That's so cool," Deadpool nudged Wolverine with his elbow. "You see that?"
"What the hell is it?"
"You don't recognize this? Classic Marvel move—the ol' circle drawing!"
The glowing golden ring stabilized in the sky, slicing a clean hole in the fabric of space. It was a portal—one forged through Sling Ring magic.
Wolverine's face turned to shock as a familiar silhouette stepped through the portal. Moments later, his expression turned to disbelief.
Because two of his oldest comrades had arrived: Magneto and Professor X.
Behind them followed Daredevil—and Alex Ray.
Alex Ray frowned as he exited the portal, surveying the battlefield. "Why the hell is this Void World even messier than I expected?"
He turned and spotted the Aloith, surging toward them like a tsunami of shadows, ready to consume everything.
"Damn, that's one hell of a welcome." But his hands moved without hesitation.
With practiced ease, he activated the Mirror Dimension. The surrounding space distorted, and a gate of light opened midair, pulling Aloith into a sealed dimension. In an instant, the imminent catastrophe was neutralized.
Erica blinked, and in the chaos, she saw a familiar face—her long-dead ex-boyfriend, Daredevil.
The costume was different, but she recognized him instantly.
"Matthew... is that you?" she whispered.
"Am I dead? I've finally crossed over, and I get to see you again?"
Erica believed that seeing Daredevil meant she had died and descended into hell—only to be reunited with him.
Although Daredevil couldn't see her, his senses—especially her scent—confirmed it was Erica. Even if they weren't from the same timeline, he knew it was her.
"No, you're still alive. Everyone's alive," Daredevil said with a soft smile.
And with that, hope erupted through the battlefield.
"We survived!"
"Someone saved us!"
"Was it the guy in the sky?"
Gambit, Blade, and the others looked toward Alex Ray, floating above them, and instantly realized—it was him. He had saved them.
After Alex landed, everyone stepped forward to thank him.
"Hey everyone, I'm Alex Ray from Hell's Kitchen. I'm from the universe where Deadpool is even more good-looking and Wolverine's still got youthful abs," Alex said, pointing toward the Wolverine standing next to X-23.
"You must be the resistance fighters Deadpool told me about," he added, turning to Gambit and Blade.
Of course, Alex already knew them. But he played it cool, pretending they were meeting for the first time.
Still, when he saw Blade, a surge of emotion rose in his chest.
Blade was one of the earliest superheroes, even before the first Spider-Man hit theaters. Yet somehow, he never got the spotlight he deserved.
And then there was Gambit. That poor guy had been preparing for a solo film for over a decade.
But thanks to a certain film studio's bankruptcy, that movie never got made.
In truth, a Gambit movie could've been awesome—imagine mixing casino aesthetics with mutant action. A total hit!
"Thank you," Gambit said, casually flipping one of his kinetic cards. "Looks like this isn't the end after all."
"Appreciate it. Guess that drink's still on the table," Blade said with his usual grim tone.

[Congratulations to the host. You have acquired: Mastery of Stealing.]
Alex Ray raised an eyebrow when he saw the system messages. "Stealing mastery?" he muttered. "Oh, right. Gambit was a thief in the comics before going legit."
Meanwhile…
Cassandra had been losing ground in her battle with Black Witch Wanda.
But then, from behind Wanda, a familiar burst of energy struck her hard—interrupting her spell.
Cassandra finally had a moment to breathe.
"Cassandra Nova Xavier… My sister. We meet again."
