Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Equipment and Summoning

The next morning, Caleb woke up very early.

After having his breakfast at the inn, he paid and left toward the port with all his money in a big sack.

...

At the port, a medium-sized ship.

The ship was brown with dark blue. At the front, it had the head of a white fox.

Jumping, he practically slid through the air onto the ship.

"..."

Coming out of the cabin, a man with a cloth on his head with a skull drawn on it looked at Caleb, startled, but soon smiled.

"I thought it was someone, but it's just a…"

His words stopped midway when he saw Caleb pull out a pistol and point it at him.

"Wait, wait, let's talk, I can…"

"Bang!"

"Thud."

Falling backward, the thief now had a hole right in the middle of his forehead.

Walking up to him, after searching his body, Caleb grabbed him by the shirt and threw him into the sea.

"SPLASH!"

After pulling up the anchor, Caleb released the sails.

Going to the helm, he steered the ship, moving away from Loguetown.

'This is one of the reasons I don't trust leaving my money on the ship.' He thought.

...

After getting a considerable distance away, Caleb locked the helm.

Going to the upper room, Caleb went in and started making coffee.

Minutes later, he served himself a cup while sitting on the chair next to the table.

'Alright.' He thought: 'Looks like I'll have to change my plans.'

Before, he only cared about saving money and training. However, the arrival of the Gacha System changed everything.

Now, he thought differently. Although he liked traveling alone, he also enjoyed having someone's company.

It was like camping—though there are advantages to camping alone and enjoying your own solitude, camping with someone can be more exciting.

Taking a sip of his coffee, Caleb opened the 'card book' and clicked on one of them.

[Tessaiga (Inuyasha)]

Description:

The Tessaiga can absorb the powers and abilities of any material, substance, or form of energy it comes into contact with, becoming more powerful and granting new abilities in the process.

Tessaiga's Sheath: It's a sheath powerful enough to contain the powers of Tessaiga itself. As such, it's capable of projecting barriers.

[Equip] – [Use] – [Recycle]

'This sword pairs perfectly with 'Thunder Breathing' and with Haki.' He thought.

When he clicked on 'equip', it automatically appeared at his waist next to the Sandai Kitetsu.

Grabbing the sword, he 'threw' it toward the ground.

Seconds later, it returned to his waist.

'So that's the advantage of Equipping.' He smiled.

Removing the Sandai Kitetsu, placing it on the table, Caleb clicked on another card.

[D-Dial (To LOVE-Ru)]

Description:

Just like a regular phone, it can be used to call other people. But unlike a regular phone, it uses dimensional technology, which you can use to "summon" and "store" all kinds of things.

[Equip] – [Use] – [Recycle]

When he clicked on 'equip', a flip phone appeared directly in his pocket.

When he took it from his pocket and looked at the list of 'items', he saw that it was empty.

'It's a shame Lala's inventions aren't here.' Though he regretted it, it was still an incredible item.

Wanting to test it, he used it to 'summon' the sword from the table.

In moments, he saw the Sandai Kitetsu being 'digitized' into the D-Dial.

'Fantastic!' He smiled.

Taking another sip of his coffee, Caleb looked at the next item.

[Lasso of Truth (DC)]

Description:

The Lasso of Truth is a magical golden rope that forces anyone it captures to obey and tell the truth.

[Equip] – [Use] – [Recycle]

He didn't hesitate before clicking 'equip'. Soon, a coiled golden rope appeared at the side of his waist.

Then, he clicked on another card.

[1x Weakness Removal Card]

Description:

A special card capable of removing 1 weakness from another card, regardless of what the weakness is.

[Use] – [Recycle]

'I kind of expected something like this, but it still surprises me. If I got a Devil Fruit card, does that mean I could eliminate its weakness to the sea? That's really amazing...'

He looked at the character cards this time.

There were some he wanted to summon, but... He started with the least dangerous one and the one with the greatest chance of getting information from her.

[Busujima Saeko (High School of The Dead)]

Description:

During a zombie outbreak, she managed to escape, being a specialist in hand-to-hand combat, physically strong, and extremely agile. However, due to a mistake by a boy she saved—making loud noise and attracting many zombies—she was surrounded and killed after being turned into a zombie.

Abilities:

- [Genius in the Art of the Sword]

[Summon] – [Assimilate] – [Recycle]

By One Piece standards, she can be seen as a 'normal' person, but only at the beginning.

But with her [Genius in the Art of the Sword] skill and personality... she could adapt well to this world...

Standing up, he clicked on 'summon'.

The card disappeared, and a woman materialized before him.

Saeko had purple, straight, and shiny hair down to her thighs, with a triangular fringe in front that barely touched the tip of her nose. She had blue eyes and glossy pink lips. She was 174 cm tall; quite tall for a Japanese girl.

When she appeared, she looked around a bit, seeming confused. Until her eyes fixed in Caleb's direction.

"You must be my... Master?" she asked him.

"You could say that." Caleb extended his hand and touched her chin.

Saeko did nothing, just looked at him with her curious eyes.

However, when she saw him leaning in to kiss her, she frowned, but everything changed once their lips touched.

The soft and sweet touch of her lips overwhelmed Caleb, but he didn't lose himself in lust, pulling away as he saw that the 'Instant Lover' ability seemed to have worked.

The change in her was noticeable; with heart-shaped pink eyes in a bizarre way, completely submissive, she asked, panting: "Please, tell me your orders, Master~"

'What a terrifying ability...'

Not wanting to abuse the ability, he took the Lasso of Truth, wrapping the end around her wrist and then canceled the effect of the 'Instant Lover' ability.

"That was..."

Confused, even a bit scared, Saeko asked him: "What was that?"

Caleb didn't satisfy her question, asking one instead: "How did you end up here?"

Even though her question was ignored, she still answered: "Wasn't it Master who summoned me?"

"Okay, let me rephrase the question." He asked: "How exactly were you summoned by me?"

She said slowly as she recalled: "To summarize, I died. After I died, a strange voice—which I couldn't identify as male or female—spoke to me. That voice offered me a proposal to have a second chance to live in another world, but if I accepted, I would have to serve the one who summoned me as my master."

"I see..." Caleb touched his chin, looking down thoughtfully, then looked at her: "Are you loyal to me?"

"I think so?" she replied, confused, adding: "At least, I want to be."

She still had the Lasso of Truth around her wrist, so she was being honest.

Caleb's eyes narrowed a bit.

Something appeared in his vision.

Summoned Characters:

- [Saeko Busujima / Loyalty: [3.2/5] / Assimilation Slot: [Empty]]

'Her words saying she wants to be loyal to me aren't fake.' Caleb thought: 'And, she's also capable of assimilating a card.'

Seeing that he had asked and tested what he wanted with her, Caleb said: "Okay, that's all I want to know for now, you can relax. And you don't need to call me Master. My name is Caleb, call me by my name."

"Alright, Caleb-sama." She smiled with a visibly more relaxed expression.

'She really adapted to this quickly.' Caleb thought.

"Oh right, you know how to use a sword, right?" Caleb asked rhetorically, expecting her to just nod in agreement.

Taking the Sandai Kitetsu from the D-Dial, he handed it to her: "Here, you can use my sword for now. But be careful, it's cursed and very sharp."

Although surprised and curious about the D-Dial in Caleb's hand, when Saeko took the sword, her eyes sparkled.

Unsheathing it, she looked at the blade of the sword with admiration: "What an incredible katana~!"

Placing the Sandai Kitetsu back into its sheath, she looked at Caleb and said: "Don't worry, I'll take good care of this katana."

At no point did she seem to care about the part where he mentioned it being a cursed sword.

Ignoring that, he pulled the Lasso of Truth off her wrist.

Only now did Saeko notice it had been there.

However, she didn't seem to mind, nor did she ask. She simply took a step back and remained silent while holding the Sandai Kitetsu with her left hand.

Thinking for a bit, Caleb pulled out a card.

[Gantz Suit (Gantz)]

Description:

This advanced suit is a combat equipment that drastically increases the user's physical capabilities, granting:

- Superhuman strength, capable of lifting up to 15 tons.

- Enhanced speed, endurance, and agility, including the ability to perform massive jumps and land softly, thanks to a shock absorption system in the shoes that releases white smoke.

- Extreme body protection, even for the head, which remains exposed but can withstand high-caliber bullets without damage.

Limitations and weaknesses:

- The suit is effective against conventional physical attacks (bullets, punches, regular melee weapons), but is vulnerable to certain types of damage, such as lasers and corrosive acids.

- It has an internal fluid-based system. When the suit takes too many consecutive hits, its "caps" break, releasing the vital fluid, rendering the suit useless. These caps can also be direct targets in combat.

- The suit has expandable artificial muscles that alter the user's appearance, making them more muscular when fully activated.

- The suit's performance depends on the user's physical strength and can be compromised by emotional stress.

[Equip] – [Use] – [Recycle]

Despite its limitations and weaknesses, it was a good enough item for Caleb to feel like using.

However, he looked at Saeko, and instead of clicking on equip or use, he picked up the card.

When he picked it up, it materialized in the physical world.

"Saeko." Caleb handed the card to her: "Take this and see if something appears for you."

Holding the sword in her left hand and with her free hand, she took the card. Soon, she stopped looking at Caleb, looking at the card instead.

"Something is appearing floating just above the card," she said, raising her left eyebrow: "Equip and Use."

"Try clicking on Equip," Caleb said.

"I'll try." Since she was holding the Sandai Kitetsu, she placed the sword on the table before clicking "Equip."

When she did, the Gantz Suit magically appeared on Saeko's body, adjusting perfectly. Her curves stood out in the suit, which was predominantly black and somewhat resembled Catwoman's latex outfit.

And since she was wearing a white and green school uniform, it created a strange contrast—but not an ugly one.
