Colton's POV
All I thought about as I walked to the sitting room to meet the Alpha council was how they had heard.
It couldn't have been Rosaline—she hadn't left the castle since.
Who else would it be?
"Alpha…" Michael was speaking, but I cut him off with my hand.
"Who else knows about the witch?"
He looked taken aback. "It's just you, Alpha."
I scoffed. "Then how the hell did it get to the council?"
"I…"
"I want an answer quickly."
As soon as I arrived at the sitting room, I felt their eyes on me, but I didn't dare look at them. There was no need to.
How had they arrived so quickly?
"Alpha Colton," Alpha Bridge started. "We got here as soon as we could." He glanced at the others as though waiting for their approval before he spoke. "Word has reached us that you are harboring a Nightborn under your roof. Do you deny it?"
I met his gaze, my jaw set. "Whoever said I was denying it?"
They glanced at each other. Some shifted uncomfortably.
