Unknown POV
I glanced at her and flashed a smile. She had been useful to me.
"Here's the money, as agreed," I handed the bag to her and she grinned as she peered inside, not bothering to count it.
She turned around and was just about to leave when I grabbed her and, in one fluid motion, pressed the knife across her throat and slid.
I held her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
Blood splattered on my face and my clothes, but I wiped it away.
Now, there would be no one to find out what happened here today.
Earlier in the day;
As soon as I heard about the witch, I knew that I had to act, and I had to be fast.
First, Miranda had to survive, but I didn't have to do anything about that. Alpha Colton wouldn't let anything happen to her.
Secondly, the council had to know about everything. That was pretty simple. Alpha Bridge's beta was my best friend.
And the last? The witch had to die. Keeping her alive was too much of a risk for me. But how was I going to achieve that?
