Under the night sky.
"No money? How disappointing."
Daichi lost interest and waved his hand.
"You have no sincerity at all, yet you come to me for advice. These days, even when you buy a young lady drinks, you have to spend money."
"I can probably guess your intention. Even if I answer you, it's useless. My experience here can't be applied to you."
Dragon was silent.
Daichi had said everything, and he didn't know how to speak for a moment.
But for the doubts in his heart, even if he humiliated himself, he didn't want to leave. This concerned the future of the Revolutionary Army.
Daichi took a sip of tea, his eyes darting around.
"Why are you still standing there? If you have nothing to do, go home, wash up, and sleep."
"Mr. Daichi."
Dragon sighed inwardly, took out a pocket watch from his coat and handed it to Daichi. "This is the only valuable thing I have on me."
"Oh, an antique."
Daichi picked up the pocket watch and rather liked it after looking at it.
It had a strong sense of history.
Inside was an old photo, a family portrait of three, but perhaps because too much time had passed, it was too blurry to see clearly.
"Hmm?"
The more Daichi looked, the more uncomfortable he felt.
The black-haired man inside, why did he look so much like Garp?
Damn, he's a Marine.
Garp was a plague to him!
"Clap!"
Daichi quickly closed the pocket watch. He wanted to return it but couldn't bear to. Maybe this thing could be useful at some point.
Then... he'd keep it for now!
"Given your sincerity, ask whatever you want, but I don't have much time, so ask the important questions."
"Mr. Daichi."
Dragon's eyes were filled with gloom.
"I want to change the current situation of the Revolutionary Army!"
The Revolutionary Army has been established for almost twenty years. Although it has gathered a group of like-minded partners, the situation of the Revolutionary Army is still incredibly difficult.
Hiding and dodging, living from hand to mouth.
Two years ago, even Ivankov and Inazuma were captured and imprisoned in Impel Down.
"Your question is very cunning!"
Daichi stroked his chin.
The scope of the question was too broad, making him unsure where to start, and he only had a superficial understanding of revolution.
Given the Revolutionary Army's terrible situation, if he were Dragon, he would most likely take his brothers and become bandits, aiming to become one of the Yonko.
Being a pirate and carving out a territory was much more appealing!
Oh, he had an idea!
Daichi's mischievous thoughts surfaced, and he asked sarcastically, "Dragon, do you know what the most serious problem of the Revolutionary Army is?"
Dragon shook his head slightly.
There were many problems. He could pick out the most serious one, but he wanted to hear the other party's opinion more.
Daichi sneered.
"It's you!"
"Me?"
Dragon was stunned.
"Exactly, it's you!"
Daichi said with certainty.
Explaining revolution was too complex, and his limited knowledge might not be enough. It was better to just tear down Dragon directly.
"In the past decade or so, your revolutionary ideology has spread widely around the world, and it has indeed achieved some results. The Revolutionary Army has also overthrown many tyrannical nations."
"Over the years, countless people have thrown themselves into the revolution without hesitation, yet the Revolutionary Army has not grown much and still acts like mice."
Daichi's eyes showed mockery.
The dignified Revolutionary Army, the World Government's most feared hostile force, yet the entire organization only had a few commanders with decent strength.
It was even worse than the Yonko crews.
Bearing the ideal of revolution, yet being unable to attract many strong individuals to join, was an inconceivable matter. No matter the era, there would be no shortage of martyrs who would throw themselves into the fire.
This could only mean the leader had a problem.
Daichi's gaze gradually turned unfriendly. "The reason is simple. You place too much importance on revolution, to the point of being cold-blooded, but you've overlooked human hearts!"
Dragon fell into thought.
He came to the New World mainly to observe how Daichi won people over, so he could apply it to the Revolutionary Army.
"Dragon, in the eyes of your comrades, you must be a calm, reliable, flawless, and unapproachable leader, right?"
"No answer?"
"Looks like I guessed correctly."
Daichi was just guessing.
After meeting twice, Dragon gave him a very oppressive feeling, like an unapproachable domineering CEO, always grim-faced, lost in thought.
He didn't like making friends with such people.
As a subordinate, if not familiar enough, one would probably not dare to breathe loudly in front of Dragon, making it hard not to be nervous.
"Actually, being aloof is fine, but you at least need to make your subordinates feel that they can rely on you, that they can entrust their lives to you, but what have you done?"
Daichi's true intentions were revealed.
"Ginny, the commander of the East Army, was captured by the Celestial Dragons and became the most pitiful slave. What were you doing during that time? Did you think of a way to save her?"
"Ivankov, the commander of the Grand Line Army, and Inazuma, the deputy commander, are still imprisoned in Impel Down. How many preparations did you make to save them?"
"Former officer Bartholomew Kuma, now he's one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, eliminating the World Government's enemies everywhere, more loyal than a dog. Didn't you plan to bring him back?"
"Gabul... uh, never mind that one."
Three consecutive questions.
Dragon lowered his head, his facial expression unclear.
"You can abandon even a commander. What do you think other officers will think? What do you think the people below will think? What do you think the rebellious citizens will think?"
"How can you expect them to trust you?"
Daichi slapped his thigh, spitting as he spoke.
"A few days ago, I fought with Shanks, and I only suffered a tiny, tiny loss. My captain Kaido, without a word, chased the Red Hair Pirates alone for three days and three nights. It was a bloodbath!"
"Now that's what you call a boss!"
"And you? You swallow your anger for the so-called greater good. Bah, what greater good? You're just a spineless coward!"
"Please, wake up. The Revolutionary Army members are also normal humans. They can't be sustained by passion alone. Even if you don't pay salaries, you should at least frequently offer some warmth, right?"
"Even if it's just for show!"
"Don't always focus on your revolution. Occasionally, care about your subordinates' emotions. They are your greatest help in growing stronger."
"Wait, I'll have some water first."
Daichi picked up his thermos and drank water, secretly observing Dragon's reaction from the corner of his eye, secretly enjoying it.
Heh, tearing him down felt great.
Dragon's eyes were filled with gloom.
"What do you think I should do?"
"Simple!"
Daichi grinned broadly.
"They captured Ginny, so why can't you capture a Celestial Dragon to retaliate? Do you understand hostage exchange? If not, just kill the hostage. At worst, it's a complete breakdown."
"Ginny will understand in heaven!"
"Ivankov is in heaven—oh, he's not dead yet. He'll understand too!"
"If you can't catch a Celestial Dragon, then catch a World Government high official, catch a Marine admiral, and if that doesn't work, catch a king of an allied country!"
"And that Vegapunk, capture him too! That will definitely make the World Government back down!"
"Please be more aggressive. You are being chased by the World Government every day. What difference does it make if you become even more radical? You'll still be chased by the World Government, won't you?"
"Those who have nothing to lose don't fear those who have something to lose!"
Dragon's face darkened.
What Daichi said certainly made sense, but if they really did that, the Revolutionary Army would become a terrorist organization.
Daichi stood up, stretched, and turned to go back into the house.
"Dragon, our conversation ends here."
"Finally, I'll give you a piece of advice."
"In this filthy world, facing enemies ten or even a hundred times stronger than yourself, only by being more ruthless than them can you possibly defeat them!"
"Weakness cannot bring peace."
