Aoki and Shinobu Kocho, hand in hand, entered the vortex and began their rapid transit through what resembled a space-time tunnel, the surrounding scenery like a cosmic starry sky.
Their apprehension about the unknown kept them both fully alert.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, the space-time tunnel violently shook. Countless electrical currents lashed against its exterior, and cracks appeared.
"What's happening?" Aoki asked, sensing something was wrong.
"Ding!"
"Hiss~"
"Warning! World data loading error! World data loading error! Space-time travel malfunction! Space-time travel malfunction!"
"Initiating emergency procedures! Forcibly teleporting host to a random world!"
A vortex suddenly appeared beside Aoki, pulling him in. The powerful suction caused him to instinctively release Shinobu Kocho's hand. As she reached for him, a vortex behind her also pulled her in.
Then, Aoki was plunged into darkness.
After what felt like a long time, Aoki awoke on cold, hard ground. He found himself in a very unfamiliar yet strangely familiar place: a modern world of high-rise buildings, but unlike his own Earth, these buildings were all ruins.
"What the hell?" He touched his still-aching head, remembering something.
"Shinobu! Shinobu?! Where are you?!"
Finding no sign of Shinobu Kocho, Aoki panicked, shouting her name.
"Hiss~"
"Ding!"
"System data restored!"
"Hiss~"
"Due to an error in the previously selected world data, the transfer malfunctioned. I have forcibly transferred the host to another world."
Aoki ignored this. "Cut the crap, where's Shinobu? My Shinobu?!"
"Ding!"
"Due to the emergency, I couldn't transfer two people to the same world simultaneously. I've sent your wife to a different world."
"What the f***?! You said multiverse travel! Now this?! You're messing with me?!" Learning Shinobu Kocho wasn't in his current world, Aoki lost control, unleashing a furious tirade.
"Ding!"
"This was my oversight. Please calm down. Your wife has been sent to a world with relatively low overall power levels. You needn't worry; as long as she avoids that world's strongest beings, she'll be safe."
"I don't care! Get me to Shinobu's world! I won't stay here a second longer!" Aoki was still furious. If there were beings Shinobu Kocho couldn't defeat, her safety wasn't guaranteed.

"I apologize, host, but I can't. You must complete this world's mission before traveling to hers."
"Otherwise, even I am powerless."
"As compensation, you will receive one free reward."

They erupted in sinister laughter. Aoki rose from the ruins, his back to them.

A black lightning bolt, accompanied by black thunder, flashed. The men in white were decapitated.

Their eyes widened as Aoki's eyes transformed into three-tomoe Sharingan. He stared at them with the cold indifference of a reaper.
Their bodies disintegrated into dust.

A gust of wind swept through, and Aoki vanished into the dust.
