"Suspicion"

When Shinya Hīragi and Aoi Sangū recovered, Aoki had already blown a massive hole in the wall behind them, leaving them speechless.

Tenri Hīragi, whose strength ranked among the top three in the entire Japanese Imperial Demon Army, had been effortlessly defeated by Aoki. If Aoki hadn't held back, Tenri Hīragi's head would have been smashed by the Rasengan.

Tenri Hīragi, still reeling from having his face held by Aoki, finally caught his breath, covered in cold sweat.

Soon, however, a smile curved his lips. "Impressive strength. I must have you join the Hīragi family today."

Just then, the door burst open, and Yūichirō Hyakuya rushed in. He'd heard the loud crash while walking down the corridor and, fearing a vampire ambush, hurried to the scene.

He found Shinya Hīragi and Aoi Sangū in shock, along with Aoki and the suspended Tenri Hīragi.

He was momentarily stunned.

"Ah, Yūichirō, you're late. I just had a sparring match with my new friend. It was quite enjoyable," Aoki said, releasing Tenri Hīragi and turning to Yūichirō Hyakuya.

Yūichirō Hyakuya didn't know what had happened but could guess.

If Tenri Hīragi hadn't provoked Aoki, Aoki wouldn't have caused such a commotion.

After being released, Tenri Hīragi looked at Yūichirō Hyakuya. "Yūichirō Hyakuya."

He had questions for Yūichirō Hyakuya, but after witnessing Aoki's power, he hesitated to press him.

"So, Master Tenri, why did you summon us?" Aoki asked, turning to Tenri Hīragi after greeting Yūichirō Hyakuya.

Tenri Hīragi's gaze locked onto Aoki. "I suspect there are vampire spies within the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. We're weeding out suspects."

"So you suspect Yūichirō and me of being vampire spies?" Aoki asked.

Tenri Hīragi replied, "Not exactly. I suspect your master, Guren Ichinose. I admit your strength surpasses mine, perhaps even everyone in the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. But even so, as the eldest son of the Hīragi family, the future head of the family, I will not tolerate vampire spies within the Japanese Imperial Demon Army!"

Tenri Hīragi spoke with righteous indignation, but Aoki chuckled. "You overestimate yourselves. The Japanese Imperial Demon Army is nothing but ants before the vampires. In the Shinjuku battle, I encountered the seventh progenitor. He's far stronger than Guren Ichinose, even stronger than you."

"That's not the point. The point is that vampire nobles' strength is ranked by their progenitor number. The seventh progenitor could easily rout you, and there are six even stronger nobles above him. Do you think the Japanese Imperial Demon Army can handle them?"

Aoki's words were clear, but Tenri Hīragi raised an eyebrow. "I admit the Japanese Imperial Demon Army's overall strength is inferior, but we have weapons to counter them."

"Oh, the Seraph of the End, right?" Aoki tilted his head, a playful glint in his eyes.

Tenri Hīragi's eyes narrowed, but he quickly recovered. "I don't know how you know about that, but you must tell me. I won't allow anything that threatens the Japanese Imperial Demon Army to exist."

"Relax. Just know that I, Aoki, am firmly on the side of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. I can't offer proof yet, but if you need me, I'll be on the front lines."

"I'm not exactly loyal to the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. We have a partnership. You provide me with a place to stay, and I help you deal with the vampires. If necessary, I can assist in investigating vampire spies. But I have one condition."

Tenri Hīragi, though not entirely convinced, said, "Speak."

"I'll help you deal with the vampires, but you absolutely cannot touch my comrades. They would never betray the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. I swear it on my name".

Of course, I can't guarantee Guren Ichinose's loyalty; he's… peculiar. "And, by the way, Guren Ichinose and I also have a partnership; I'm not his subordinate."

Aoki's tone was light, contrasting sharply with Tenri Hīragi's serious demeanor.

"I can't believe you," Tenri Hīragi said after a long pause.

"What would make you believe me?"

"Until you kill a vampire noble, I won't believe you."

"And before that?"

"We will monitor you 24/7, including your personal privacy."

Their conversation revealed Tenri Hīragi's skepticism towards Aoki.

Unless Aoki killed a vampire noble before them, they wouldn't believe him.

And because of Aoki's terrifying strength, they needed constant surveillance.

Tenri Hīragi's demands were excessive. After a long silence, Aoki said, "I accept your terms. I will allow 24/7 surveillance until I kill a vampire noble, and I will unconditionally eliminate any threats. So, release my captured comrades."

Before arriving, Aoki had searched for Yuichi and Kimizuki, but couldn't find them.

Tenri Hīragi's summons made it clear that they were captured.

Tenri Hīragi wasn't surprised that Aoki knew about Yoichi and Kimizuki's capture; Aoki had repeatedly surprised him.

"Go, release them. As for Yūichirō Hyakuya, I need further confirmation of his loyalty," Tenri Hīragi instructed Aoi Sangū, then turned to Aoki.
