"The Agenda"

"Damn it, I can't fix it! What should I do?!" In the morning, Yūichirō Hyakuya found his hair unmanageable and was incredibly frustrated.

"Seriously? Dry your hair properly before sleeping," Shihō Kimizuki, behind him, sighed.

"Yeah, I know. Whatever, it'll be fine. Where are they?" Giving up on his hair, Yūichirō Hyakuya turned to Yoichi Saotome, who was heading upstairs.

"I heard they're in Room 3," Yoichi Saotome replied. "Breakfast should be ready. They're both girls, after all."

"What's for breakfast, Yoichi Saotome?"

"Probably a very elegant breakfast. I'm looking forward to it."

Unexpectedly, Aoki was also present, which was unusual. He typically wouldn't attend squad meetings, even as the captain.

"Hey, Aoki, do you know why we're here?" Yūichirō Hyakuya asked.

"Nah, I don't know. Even though I'm the captain, Shinoa seems to have more say in the squad, so I'm not sure what she's planning," Aoki said, shrugging.

"Anyway, Shinoa will explain. Before that, fix your messy hair. You won't attract any girls like that."

Aoki followed Yoichi Saotome and Shihō Kimizuki upstairs.

"BOOM!"

A loud explosion echoed as he reached the upper floor. Looking towards the source, he saw black smoke billowing from the kitchen where Shinoa Hīragi and Mitsuba Sangū were preparing breakfast, along with their screams.

Aoki rushed to the kitchen, only to find a comical scene.

Expecting an attack, Aoki discovered the cause was simply a cooking mishap—a pot had exploded due to improper handling.

This reminded Aoki of a similar incident with Kanae Kocho and Mitsuri Kanroji in the Demon Slayer world, when they were experimenting with new recipes.

"It's burnt! How did we manage to burn omurice?" Shinoa Hīragi exclaimed, gesturing wildly at Mitsuba Sangū.

"I read that adding some alcohol makes it tastier," Mitsuba Sangū explained, holding the burning pot.

Neither had any cooking experience; they were improvising, so the mishap was understandable.

"You two…" Aoki's mouth twitched at the sight of Shinoa Hīragi and Mitsuba Sangū.

Shinoa Hīragi and Mitsuba Sangū noticed Aoki, and Yūichirō Hyakuya and the others arrived, equally speechless at the situation.

Then, Shihō Kimizuki stepped forward. He took the burning pot from Mitsuba Sangū and, with smooth, efficient movements, prepared a perfectly cooked omurice, leaving Shinoa Hīragi and Mitsuba Sangū wide-eyed.

A few minutes later, a steaming omurice was ready.

"Here, serve it," Shihō Kimizuki said, handing the plate to the stunned duo, his expression unchanged and slightly exasperated.

The six of them gathered around a table for breakfast.

"You're amazing, Kimizuki-san. You can do anything," Yūichirō Hyakuya said, admiring the food.

Shihō Kimizuki: "That's because you two are useless."

Shinoa Hīragi and Mitsuba Sangū felt a wave of humiliation and resentment, but couldn't retort.

Shinoa Hīragi: "Actually, it would have been better without Mitsuba."

Mitsuba Sangū: "I read that adding alcohol makes it tastier."

They tried to explain.

Yoichi Saotome: "Okay, okay, let's try making breakfast together again sometime."

Shihō Kimizuki: "But only in a place with a fire extinguisher. Fires are troublesome."

Everyone laughed.

"So, what are we discussing? I don't want you guys secretly plotting without me," Yūichirō Hyakuya said, remembering the purpose of the meeting.

After taking a sip of water, Shinoa Hīragi said, "Two main topics: First, Yūichirō might be some kind of test subject, as evidenced by his outburst on the battlefield and nearly killing me. Second, Lieutenant Colonel Guren Ichinose—is he really our comrade?"

"Is Guren-san really our comrade? What does that mean?" Yūichirō Hyakuya asked, confused. Only Aoki seemed to understand Shinoa Hīragi's statement, as he too deeply suspected Guren Ichinose.

Shinoa Hīragi explained, The Lieutenant Colonel might be using us, including Yūichirō. He might be trying to create conflict with the higher-ups, or he might have even more ambitious plans.

This might be the first time you've heard this, but we need to consider whether we should continue following Lieutenant Colonel Guren Ichinose.

"No, we need to discuss how we should face this world going forward. Depending on the situation, we might have to consider leaving the Lieutenant Colonel. That's an option."

Silence fell upon the group, except for Aoki, who continued eating. He seemed unconcerned. In his opinion, even if Guren Ichinose was plotting something, he couldn't threaten Aoki.

However, if Guren Ichinose threatened Yūichirō Hyakuya and the others, Aoki wouldn't let him get away with it.

"Let me say something," Aoki said, finally putting down his chopsticks.

"About Guren Ichinose… I noticed something odd during the Shinjuku battle. His lack of surprise at Yūichirō's outburst, and his survival despite the vast difference in strength between him and that vampire noble… all highly suspicious."

Also, about Yūichirō, if I'm not mistaken, you're a test subject of something called the Seraph of the End.

Furthermore, I suspect Lieutenant Colonel Guren Ichinose deliberately assigned us to this squad.

I investigated. Black Demon-class Cursed Gears are extremely rare within the Vampire Extermination Unit.

You might not find one in a hundred members.

The fact that our entire squad uses Black Demon-class Cursed Gears is extremely strange.

It's likely why Tenri-sama suspects us. It's too unusual. Even I find it strange.
