"Ebina"
Shortly afterward, Aoki's squad received orders from Guren Ichinose to rendezvous at a designated location, eliminating any encountered Horsemen of the Apocalypse along the way.
On an abandoned highway, a car sped along.
With no pedestrians present, they didn't need to worry about collisions, except, of course, with the Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
As with the trip to Shinjuku, Shihō Kimizuki drove, Yūichirō Hyakuya sat in the passenger seat, and the other four were in the back. The car was larger than the last one, so it wasn't as cramped, though the open-air design made it chilly.
"It's getting cold," Yūichirō Hyakuya said, propping his head up with one hand.
"Cold weather tenses the body. Isn't that good?" Shinoa Hīragi replied.
"More importantly, tell us the destination, Aoki. Guren-san must have told you, the captain. Driving with Shinoa's haphazard navigation is exhausting," Shihō Kimizuki complained.
"Hey, let's just go straight to Hakone. We can all relax in an onsen afterward. Wouldn't that be nice?" Shinoa Hīragi teased, earning an exasperated sigh from Shihō Kimizuki.
"Ebina," Aoki said flatly and concisely.
"Ebina?" Yūichirō Hyakuya wasn't familiar with the place.
"Yeah, Ebina. Our mission is to head to Nagoya. It seems we'll be facing vampire nobles directly," Shinoa Hīragi explained.
"Nagoya… will Mikaela be there?" Yūichirō Hyakuya, hearing "vampire nobles," immediately thought of his family.
Suddenly, the car swerved. Shihō Kimizuki was evading an attack from a Horseman of the Apocalypse; another appeared on the other side.
Yūichirō Hyakuya was about to attack, but Aoki stood up.
In the next second, he rapidly formed hand seals, and a burst of intense flames erupted from his mouth, forming a massive fireball aimed at one Horseman.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
The fireball struck the Horseman, engulfing it in flames. With a scream, it collapsed, motionless.
But Aoki didn't stop.
He formed more hand seals. This time, a torrent of water erupted from him, forming a massive water dragon that slammed into the other Horseman.
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"
The Horseman was destroyed, just like the first.
Aoki calmly sat back down, his expression unchanged.
"His attack methods are… unusual," Shinoa Hīragi observed. She'd noticed that Aoki's attacks were strange. They only had Cursed Gears for abilities, but Aoki seemed to have other methods.
She didn't dwell on it. Perhaps Aoki had personal reasons for not sharing, and she trusted him implicitly. It was a woman's intuition, her sixth sense.
More Horsemen appeared, but this time Yūichirō Hyakuya handled them. Though weaker than Aoki, he had no trouble dealing with such weak opponents.
After eliminating the Horsemen, he found that Shihō Kimizuki and the others had already driven off.
Yūichirō Hyakuya stood alone, enduring the biting cold wind without flinching.
"We're late. We'll get scolded." Shihō Kimizuki, after being persuaded by Shinoa Hīragi and the others, returned to pick up Yūichirō Hyakuya. The delay meant they arrived in Ebina after the meeting time.
"If we're late, I'll blame Shinoa and Mitsuba."
"What do you mean, blame us?"
"Hey, Kimizuki, you consider that guy a comrade?"
"Well, I got you back, didn't I?"
Upon arriving in Ebina, they were indeed late. Guren Ichinose's squad and Shinya Hīragi were already addressing everyone.
"Departure at 7:00 AM sharp. Arrival at Nagoya by 1:00 PM. Detailed operational plans will be distributed later."
Guren Ichinose spoke from above, while Aoki's late squad tried to sneak past unnoticed.
But they were spotted. "Hey, what are you doing? Trying to sneak in like that?"
The squad froze. Aoki stood up. "Ah, Guren-san, we're late. We didn't want to embarrass you, so we tried to sneak in. Any problems?"
Despite being at fault, Aoki stood tall.
Guren Ichinose's mouth twitched. "Hey, I'm your superior, even if only nominally. Show some respect. Don't embarrass me."
Before the Shinjuku battle, such arrogance would have earned Aoki a kick from Guren Ichinose. But now, knowing Aoki's true strength, Guren Ichinose knew a kick would result in a broken foot.
"This mission isn't a game, Aoki. Even if you're stronger than me, you need to be serious. Nagoya might be even more brutal than Shinjuku."
Guren Ichinose would normally be furious, but Aoki was exceptional. And his presence in Nagoya would pose a significant threat to the vampires. Word of his one-on-four victory in Shinjuku had likely spread, so they might target him.
Other members of the Moon Demon Company noticed the commotion and looked at Aoki's squad.
"What's with those guys? Latecomers?"
"Obviously. But did Lieutenant Colonel Guren say that guy is stronger than him?"
"Impossible. Lieutenant Colonel Guren's strength is undeniable. Saying someone is stronger is a bit of an exaggeration."
