Chapter 235 - Chapter 235: Hurry and Pay Homage to the Great Star-Lord!

Peter was flying through the air.

Although Spider-Man shouldn't be flying everywhere, the problem was that, apart from a few small cities like San Juan, the entire island of Puerto Rico was a sparsely developed island. Moreover, the direction the spaceship was heading was deep in the mountains.

It would be too slow if Spider-Man ran on the ground. Plus, he wasn't the only one traveling; he also had to carry Cindy. Don't ask why he was carrying her; just know it was for convenience.

As the wings generated by Venom flapped continuously and the spaceship drew closer, Peter finally got a clear look at the alien vessel. He not only recognized this ship but was actually quite familiar with it.

Isn't that the Guardians of the Galaxy's ship?

The timeline was scrambled once again. Unlike Captain Marvel's postponed debut, the Guardians of the Galaxy seemed to have formed early. Their distinctive red-winged ship was flying toward the deep forest, and based on its trajectory, the target seemed to be the Arecibo Observatory.

Peter and Cindy landed near the observatory just before the ship touched down, and a large group of US military soldiers immediately surrounded them. Carol walked over, accompanied by a scientist in a white lab coat. She was carrying a massive energy rifle, likely some product of Project PEGASUS.

"Spider-Man? What are you doing here?"

Though they hadn't met, Carol, who had heard of him, looked very surprised and then glanced at Cindy beside him. "And this is..."

"Silk, affiliated with S.H.I.E.L.D." Peter introduced Cindy and then explained his presence: "An alien spaceship has landed on Earth. The Avengers need to send someone to check it out, don't they?"

You guys were fast... And both the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. are here? Does this mean they also plan to investigate Project PEGASUS?

As Carol mused inwardly, she watched the red ship land vertically. When the rear hatch opened, the first person to emerge... was a scruffy, seemingly thirty-something human male? What was he wearing? An eighties rock jacket?

Why would a human male exit an alien spaceship?

The next arrival was even more extraordinary: a giant, bipedal raccoon wearing clothes and holding a gun that was absolutely huge compared to his size. The rest were more normal—meaning the ones who followed were actually a group of aliens. There was a bipedal tree that was clearly an alien, and others with gold, green, and blue skin, all clearly not human. There was also one whose skin texture was similar to a human's, but from the eyes and antennae on their head, they definitely weren't from Earth.

In that case, the human-looking leader might not be from Earth either, and that raccoon... was he a Raccoon-ian?

Carol, her head full of confusion, watched the man walk to the front with a smile that was less friendly and more goofy. Just as he was about to speak, the raccoon suddenly cleared its throat, holding its left arm behind its back and raising its right hand, interrupting the man's speech.

Then, the raccoon, in a voice much louder than its size suggested, stretched out its hand and introduced the man in the rock jacket:

"Ignorant Earthlings, be quick and present your highest form of etiquette to the Heir to the Spartax Empire, the Great Star-Lord!"

The air at the scene seemed to fall silent. After a full ten seconds, Carol finally retorted:

"Who?"

Two more seconds of silence followed, until the raccoon seemed completely satisfied and burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha!! I told you! Quill, your broken planet has absolutely no idea who your old man is! No one in any corner of the galaxy recognizes you as Star-Lord! Hahahaha!"

"Come on, buddy! You pulled that whole stunt just to prove a point and make fun of me?!"

Star-Lord was completely mortified. Look at what you've done. You've made everyone go silent. Is anyone else laughing besides you? No one in the team behind him is laughing, okay?

"Could you please stop laughing, guys?" Star-Lord turned his head and whispered to his teammates. "This is my home planet. Just let me have a little face."

"You need no face, Peter Quill." Drax stated the situation with his usual bluntness. He was the only one in the entire team who wasn't laughing. "As the first interstellar empire heir in history to have an intergalactic speeding ticket mailed to his own father, I don't think you grasp the concept of shame."

The entire team burst into even louder laughter. Star-Lord couldn't help but shoot them a glare.

Oh, thanks a lot.

"Okay, um, don't mind them. My name is Peter Quill. I'm half-Earthling, and I'm kind of these guys'... supervisor or something. Don't let their appearance fool you; I've saved the galaxy several times with them."

Star-Lord unconsciously distanced himself and the Guardians of the Galaxy from each other. He then looked at the four people present. He first moved his gaze away from the two people in strange costumes and looked at Carol and Michael. "So, who's in charge? I came to Earth to warn you that a terrible person is approaching here. You are under invasion."

He found that both Carol and Michael were focused on the person in the strange costume.

"Wait, you're in charge? Who are you?"

"I'm Spider-Man, an Avenger."

Star-Lord looked Peter up and down, exclaiming in shock: "So, you wear a spider costume, and you're a person, so you call yourself Spider-Man? And what about the lady next to you? Spider-Woman?"

"No, her codename is Silk."

"That makes no sense at all. Either that, or you're terrible at naming things, buddy."

Star-Lord looked at Peter and asked a second question: "Avengers? What's that, a spandex-wearing freak show band?"

You'd better not say that when the Avengers are assembled, Peter grumbled in his mind and offered an explanation: "A superhero team that protects the peace of Earth, composed of the planet's most powerful superhumans."

"Oh, I get it. The Earth version of the Guardians of the Galaxy."

Carol, who had witnessed the entire exchange, held her gun and looked at Michael with slight weariness: "If these people can save the galaxy several times, either I'm crazy or the galaxy is beyond saving. What do you think?"

"I don't know," Michael shrugged. "I don't know them."
