Chapter 394 - Chapter 394: Great Battle Against the Elementals

Although the Elementals' fatal weakness had been discovered, they actually still held a few advantages.

The first was their advantage in numbers. Even if their true form—spirit bodies—was discovered, the only one who could truly harm them was Spider-Man. Furthermore, their spiritual battle with Spider-Man didn't prevent them from controlling the elements in the physical world to attack the Wild Legion.

The second was that, since it was a battle between spirit bodies, it wasn't a contest of real-world superpowers. Since they were all spirit bodies, shouldn't they be equally powerful?

Just then, Molten Man's spirit body was stuck by a web shot out by Spider-Man's spirit body, and he was flung to the side. His body of high-temperature liquid metal was also slammed into the ground nearby. Molten Man stood up, utterly bewildered, and looked at the web Spider-Man had fired, roaring in confusion: "How can your spirit body... how can it keep its abilities?"

"Magic, buddy. Didn't you know there's a god behind the spiders, too?"

Peter rushed forward and landed another punch on Molten Man's spirit body. His hands were covered in a glow that came from the Web of Destiny itself. Although the Web of Destiny wasn't an independent dimension, it still possessed incredibly powerful force. As long as Peter used some magic, he could draw power from the Web of Destiny, allowing his spirit body to also possess spider abilities.

In short, this was a tactic to make one's soul a Spider-Man as well.

"Attack Spider-Man! Save Molten Man!"

Hydro-Man shouted, immediately charging forward, transforming himself into countless streams of water that rushed forward. Sylvia raised her gun and, along with the other members of the Wild Legion, began shooting at Hydro-Man. However, Hydro-Man seemed to have been guarding against this move already; he flexibly controlled the water, opening up countless small holes in his body to let the bullets pass through.

This way, you can't shock me, right?

Hydro-Man was smug as he rushed towards Venom, grabbing him and completely encasing him in a mass of water, intending to permeate and kill him. But Venom, being a molecular-level organism, actually managed to forcefully isolate every single water molecule of Hydro-Man on the outside of its body, similar to the effect of the Wild Legion's protective suits.

But Hydro-Man didn't give up and chose to switch tactics. He wrapped the lower half of his body around Venom, then extended a stream of water from Venom's waist, reforming it into the muscular upper half of his body, and began fiercely pounding on Venom. Venom absorbed the assault, but far from feeling any effect, he burst out laughing.

"You think you can beat me with that trick?" Venom batted Hydro-Man away, causing him to scatter, and then, watching Hydro-Man re-coalesce, Venom slammed another punch onto him: "I know the villain usually says this, but I have to say it—you guys are overestimating yourselves!"

Hydro-Man was scattered again and again without showing any reaction. Instead, after enduring the continuous attacks, he smiled, then turned into an entire puddle of water, dripping towards the ground.

The water droplets of Hydro-Man were swept up by Cyclone's wind. As the airflow spun and the mutant continuously lowered the temperature, Sandman infused his sand into it. Sharp throwing knives appeared in mid-air one after another. When countless throwing knives were aimed at everyone, Cyclone merely floated in mid-air and snapped his fingers.

Immediately, the countless throwing knives hurtled towards the Wild Legion. Venom dashed forward, appearing in front of everyone, and symbiotic material surged from his hands. A gigantic symbiote shield instantly protected everyone, blocking all the flying blades.

"Piece of cake, haha."

"Molten Man! Stop worrying about Spider-Man! Create an opportunity for us!" Hydro-Man roared. If they couldn't deal with the symbiote, they would have no way to deal with Spider-Man. While roaring at Molten Man to stop counter-attacking the soul damage caused by Spider-Man and instead decisively deal with Venom, he looked toward Sandman and Cyclone.

They had to deal with Venom first.

Countless grains of sand began to float in the air, accompanied by countless tiny breezes that whistled sharply. The interaction between the wind and the sand emitted a high-frequency sonic vibration that caused everyone discomfort. Venom, in particular, began to visibly dissipate. Peter saw this and instinctively muttered an "Oh no," but still chose to keep pummeling Molten Man.

"Are you ready?"

Cindy hadn't made a move earlier, partly because she didn't have a specialized weapon, and partly because she needed to execute a combo move. She asked Black Cat, who had been busy tinkering inside a Jeep—not the one that had been thrown earlier, but another one.

"Almost. Done. Alright, Webs, throw this Jeep towards those Elementals without delay." Black Cat said, while climbing out of the car, carrying a bag of items, and smiling: "I hope we don't need to use these things. These are the secret weapons Spider-Man prepared for them. If we have to use them here, doesn't it prove that the European's technology is useless?"

Cindy nodded, then grabbed the twenty-thousand-dollar Jeep and directly hurled it towards the three Elementals in the air. Cyclone was the fastest to react, instantly conjuring a wind blade that sliced the Jeep in two.

But that was exactly the effect Black Cat wanted. An unprecedented explosion erupted instantly, not only silencing the noisy wind and sand in mid-air but also causing both Sandman and Hydro-Man extreme pain, making them unable to maintain their forms.

"What did you do?"

Sylvia looked at Felicia in surprise. Felicia merely shrugged simply: "I just borrowed a shell from your armory meant to deal with the Elementals, and according to a certain high school boy, I modified it by connecting it to your Jeep's battery."

Sylvia looked at Felicia with a mix of exasperation and suspicion, while Cindy looked at Venom. Although Peter's physical body seemed fine, anyone could tell Venom was somewhat weakened.

Whether it was because he hadn't fully recovered from the blast of the Pumpkin Bomb last time, or because the symbiote's weakness was too apparent, Venom was clearly being targeted. Although Venom's resistance had increased after consuming Grendel, the commotion this time was still too great.

"Molten Man, quickly!" The frantic Cyclone cried out, continuously generating wind blades, attempting to weaken the enemy through physical attacks. Molten Man, on the other hand, began to radiate a brightness he had never displayed before.

He was going to endure the pain in his soul and completely incinerate Spider-Man.
