They entered in Viraaj's chamber. He was sleeping soundly.
Raksheet placed the tray on the table beside the bed. Ira sat down next to Viraaj on the bed and called him.
"Grandfather..." She called, expecting her grandfather to respond and open his eyes. But Viraaj was in a deep sleep that he didn't heard her voice.
Ira again called her grandfather but a little louder "Grandfather!"
But still, Viraaj didn't responded.
To wake him up, Ira held his hand but the temperature of his body made Ira tighten her grip on her grandfather's hand in worry. She placed her hand on Viraaj's forehead to check the temperature and it was too high. She quickly looked at Raksheet and said.
"He have fever. His body is burning!" She was breathing heavily with a worried look.
Raksheet immediately checked Viraaj's temperature and his eyes widened.
"I will call the healer." He said and ran out of the chamber.
Ira asked a maid to bring a wet towel to reduce the fever. She was busy reducing Viraaj's temperature while controlling her tears after seeing her grandfather like this, when her mothers, grandmothers and siblings came in the chamber.
Sadhya ran towards Viraaj and sat down beside him on the bed. "W-What happened to him?" She asked stuttering.
The tears Ira was trying to control till now, suddenly dropped from her eyes and she burst in to tears after seeing her mother. She hugged her mother tightly "l-I don't know.....I brought porridge for him and he was sleeping.....When i tried to wake him up, he was having a high fever. R-Raksheet went to summon the healer." She said in between her sob.
Daksha hugged Ira and patted her back to console her. "Don't cry, he will be fine."
In between, Raksheet entered in chamber with the healer 'Mr. Chiron'. Everyone moved away from Viraaj to let the healer check him. Raksheet went towards Ira and she hugged him with teary eyes. He wiped the tears from Ira's eyes and said "He will be fine, don't worry."
"I don't like to see him like this." She said in a low voice but enough for Raksheet to hear.
Chiron started checking Viraaj. When he was done, he asked "Your majesty, you said he is already sick, did he took his medicine on time?"
Before Raksheet, Ira immediately spoke up "Yes he did. After having breakfast he wanted to take a walk and after that....." She suddenly stopped talking when she realised what happened when they were coming to Viraaj's chamber to give him his medicine. "....I gave him his medicine." She said as she understood everything.
Raksheet looked at his wife when he heard the instability in her statement.
Sensing Raksheet's gaze, Ira looked up at her husband. He raised his eyebrows questioningly and she gestured him that she will tell him everything later.
"Hmm.....did he ate anything he is allergic to?" The healer asked.
"No." Ira replied.
"Then may be it's because of the change in the weather. The weather in Aaro is different from Jwalana. And he is already sick, so may be his body can't adjust with the temperature in Jwalana. I am giving some medicine. Make sure he eat this medicine on time and give him some light food. Make sure he gets enough rest." Chiron explained and fed a medicine to Viraaj to reduce the temperature. After giving the medicine, he left from there.
Ira sat down beside Viraaj and changed the wet towel. "All of you can go, it's almost lunch time, I will look after grandfather."
Sadhya was already angry on Ira that she didn't took care of Viraaj and upon that, she is telling her to leave the chamber. She wanted to lash out her anger on Ira right there. But before she can do that, Neisha spoke.
"Ira is right. She will take care of his majesty and Raksheet will accompany her." She said and looked at Raksheet, waiting for his answer.
Raksheet nod in agreement as he can't leave Ira and Viraaj alone in this situation. She will cry for sure if she is alone here, seeing her grandfather like this.
"Let's go, have lunch." Neisha took everyone out of the chamber, leaving Raksheet and Ira alone with Viraaj.
When Everyone left, Ira said to Raksheet "Raksheet, I think someone is trying to hurt grandfather."
His eyebrows curled in confusion "What? Someone is trying to hurt him? How do you know that?"
Ira looked at Viraaj and held his hand "When I and grandfather were coming to his chamber, i heard some footsteps. The sound of footsteps was coming from near grandfather's chamber. I asked him whether he heard it, but he said he didn't heard anything so I ignored it. But now, i am sure someone has entered in grandfather's chamber and messed with his medicine. Because he was all fine before taking the medicine. He got fever when he slept after taking those medicines."
She got up and walked towards the the table and searched the medicine she gave Viraaj. When she found it, she showed it to Raksheet. "There must be something wrong with these medicines." She placed the medicine in Raksheet's hand and asked "Would you help me find out what is wrong with these medicines and who changed the actual medicine?"
Raksheet caressed Ira's cheek and kissed her forehead. He nod reassuringly "Of course I will help you. You don't have to ask me, you have to order me. I will do anything for you."
Tears again welled up in her eyes. She hugged him tightly and started crying.
Raksheet rubbed her back to calm her and said "You didn't had your lunch yet. You must be hungry."
"No I am not." Ira replied.
He patted her back "I know you don't want to leave your grandfather. I will tell someone to bring food here for us. Let's eat together."
Ira realised that Raksheet also didn't had his lunch yet. She looked up at her husband and said "Ok, let's eat together here."
After eating lunch, Raksheet asked Avanya to stay with Ira because he have some work to do. As Ira requested him to look for the person who entered in Viraaj's chamber and to check the medicine, he have to make arrangements for it. He asked the healer to check the medicine and told his personal spy 'Vikram' to look for the person who entered in Viraaj's chamber. After that, he left for his other works.
In the evening, finally Viraaj woke up. He slowly opened his eyes and looked arround. He felt someone holding his hand tightly and looked down at his hand just to find Ira sitting beside his bed while holding his hand and resting her head on bed. She was asleep.
He tried to sit up weakly when Avanya entered in chamber with a maid behind her holding a tea tray. As soon as Avanya saw Viraaj is awake and trying to sit up, she ran towards him and helped him.
"Your majesty, be careful." Her voice made Ira wake up.
When she saw her grandfather struggling to sit up, she quickly got up from her chair and helped him.
"I am fine." Viraaj said so that Ira will not worry much.
She sat down beside him and asked "How can you say you are fine when you had such a high fever? You don't know how worried I was. You scared me." She said sulking.
Viraaj smiled weakly "I am sorry I scared you. But I am really fine now."
Ira didn't said anything and kept quiet. She placed her hand on Viraaj's forehead to check the temperature. She sighed in relief when his temperature was normal.
"You must be hungry. I will bring some porridge for you." She stood up to leave but Avanya stopped her.
"Ira, you stay here. Talk to your grandfather. I will bring the porridge. Drink some tea. Your majesty, do you want some?" She asked to Viraaj.
"No, thank you for asking." Viraaj replied "And Sorry to bother you."
"No your majesty, you are not bothering me. Please feel free to call us whenever you need anything. Ira, i will be back."
