Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Gwen's Dark History—I'm Just Looking, Not Going In

Saturday.

Oscorp Industries Building.

Gwen wore a white lab coat and silver-framed glasses, her heroic spirit diminished considerably, replaced by an intellectual air.

Under her guidance, a group of visiting students entered one high-tech laboratory after another.

"I feel like Stacy knows this building better than you do."

Peter whispered to Harry beside him.

Harry Osborn rolled his eyes: "I'm just a useless rich second generation, while Stacy has been praised by several professors. Her clearance level is much higher than mine."

Peter looked at his friend with contempt.

You're the crown prince of Oscorp Industries, yet you care so little about your own company's business!

"What are you looking at? What's wrong with wanting to be a carefree rich second generation?" Harry said indignantly.

After making the rounds, Gwen felt it was about time and raised her voice slightly in warning:

"Alright, students, if there are sections you're interested in, you can explore freely, but please remember—don't touch any items casually to avoid causing huge losses or even harm to yourselves."

The crowd immediately dispersed, and Gwen finally had some free time.

Looking at the time, she figured her big lazy pig should be up by now.

Gwen lowered her head to take out her phone and casually pushed open a laboratory door, sending a video call request to Leo.

Soon, Leo's situation appeared on the phone.

He seemed to have just woken up and was eating breakfast.

However, when she saw clearly what Leo was eating for breakfast, Gwen couldn't help but laugh, her beautiful eyes curving into crescents.

"Eating a Big Mac first thing in the morning, and a double one at that—aren't you afraid of becoming a fat pig?"

On the other end, Leo silently adjusted his phone angle to prevent Gwen from seeing the other twenty hamburgers.

Then he grinned mischievously.

"No choice—I can eat whatever I want without getting fat. Unlike certain people, their weight in second year of middle school..."

"Don't say it!" Gwen's voice became shrill, her earlobes slightly red.

This was all her dark history.

Back then, seeing Leo eat voraciously without gaining any weight, little Gwen was very envious and followed his example.

Half a semester later, her weight shot up by 20 pounds, her little face visibly rounder by two sizes, even developing a double chin.

Looking at Leo's unchanged appearance, little Gwen finally realized she'd been fooled.

In tears, she spent a full six months of hard exercise to get her figure back to normal.

And because of the fitness routine, her figure became even better.

From then on, Gwen considered this period a dark chapter in her history.

Now that Leo brought it up again, Gwen got excited and slapped her hand on the desk, coincidentally squashing a spider.

Spider: ???

First of all, I didn't provoke any of you.

Since I'm going to die anyway, I'll bite you first.

"Ouch."

"What's wrong, Gwen?"

Leo looked at the screen strangely.

"Nothing, I think I broke some experimental equipment." Gwen stuck out her tongue embarrassedly, then said:

"I won't talk to you anymore. I still need to watch the visitors and make sure they don't wander around."

"Be good, okay?"

Leo nodded obediently, and only then did Gwen hang up the phone with satisfaction.

Looking at the spider she'd accidentally killed, she thought it had crawled in from somewhere and didn't pay much attention, directly throwing it in the trash.

After eating breakfast, Leo idly watched some news.

Mainly news about Stark Industries.

As the best way for a transmigrator to make money, he certainly hadn't missed Stark Industries' stock.

But unlike those who bought in when Stark announced the closure of the weapons department and bought low.

Although he was a playboy, no one doubted Stark's ability to develop weapons.

Stock prices had been climbing steadily.

Every time he made money, Leo would convert part of it into Stark Industries stock.

Over the years, the stock price had doubled.

He could get quite a bit of money from dividends each year.

The current time point was also crucial.

When Tony won some peace prize, Leo planned to sell all his stock to avoid the subsequent crash.

Unfortunately, after searching for ages, all he found was news about which cover girl the dog tycoon had slept with and which female celebrity he was rumored to be involved with.

Then the dog tycoon proved those weren't rumors.

So envious... cough, so shameless.

Could you really do whatever you wanted just because you had money?

Closing the browser angrily, Leo was already planning when to engage in some wealth redistribution.

"Let's go see how John's doing."

With nothing else to do, Leo decided to check on his old friend in case something happened to him.

Spreading out his perception, among New York's tens of millions of people, Leo accurately captured John Wick's ki signature, changed his appearance, and teleported over.

The Yardrat Star teleportation technique had a wide range, was fast, and didn't consume much energy.

The only drawback was that you had to sense the other person's ki to teleport near their location.

If you wanted to go to some deserted place, there was no way to do it.

Whoosh!

Leo's figure appeared above a church. Inside the church, John Wick was going on a rampage, shooting anyone he encountered.

The originally 'bright and holy' church instantly became a living hell.

Thanks to the excellent matchmaking system in the European and American regions, the surrounding residents had long been accustomed to such events.

Some even curiously lay on their windowsills watching the excitement.

A gust of wind blew past, and Leo entered the church, ignoring the blood flowing like rivers around him, following the back passage all the way down.

He found John Wick, who was preparing to burn this place to ash.

"Hey, wait, isn't this wasteful!"

Seeing the jewelry and cash scattered on the ground, Leo panicked and quickly stopped him.

"You don't need money, but I do. I can barely afford to eat."

"How did you get here!"

John was startled by Leo's sudden appearance, then watched speechlessly as Leo skillfully took out a large sack and stuffed everything inside.

Some uncashable checks and account books were disdainfully left behind.

"If I hadn't come, how would I know you're such a spendthrift? What a waste."

With the sack packed full, Leo finally smiled with satisfaction.

Shouldering the sack with one hand, he patted John's shoulder contentedly with the other.

"Let's go find that Viggo together."

"Don't worry, I'm just looking—I promise I won't go in."
