Chapter 2 - True Longinus

However, becoming the successor to the witch's book seemed to be a matter of accidental coincidence.

"Forget it, I'll do it step by step," Kaito sighed, as he stood up and patted his cheeks to clear his mind.

Walking towards a nearby public water fountain, the cool water gushing from the faucet dispelled the fatigue and discomfort.

Kaito, who knew nothing about the new world, could only follow the crowd and communicate with passersby using his basic English. Fortunately, his pleasant appearance attracted the help of several foreign women, who enthusiastically gave him instructions.

As expected, attractiveness is universal, and his good looks opened doors even in distant lands.

Having been influenced by various novels, animations, and transmigration games, he wasn't overly nervous. Understanding the witch's book's abilities and discovering where he was were his top priorities now.

He patted his pocket, empty of a single coin, and the hunger in his stomach made him feel somewhat weak.

To study the witch's book's function, he couldn't do such a thing in public; if a beautiful ally were suddenly summoned, it would be problematic.

Reaching a dark alleyway, Kaito opened the witch's book in his mind.

Apart from some accumulated rubbish in a corner, there was nothing special about this place.

At least the smell was acceptable, not too bad.

However, after much investigation, he still couldn't figure it out.

After all, a novice transmigrant couldn't be expected to make sense of such an enigmatic book.

However, just a moment before Kaito was about to give up, a warm current surged from the witch's book into his mind, and a line of small characters appeared on the slightly yellowed first page.

[Initial condition fulfillment detected.]

[Reward for recognizing the primary desire without deception: Unlocking Starter Pack: God Slayer Armory.]

An unfamiliar long spear, the True Longinus, materialized in Kaito's mind.

The True Longinus, a legendary weapon said to have changed the fates of worlds, contained divine power and was rumored to hold the ultimate will of a supreme deity.

At the same time, the method of using the True Longinus appeared in Kaito's mind, along with combat techniques and summoning methods.

"This is truly a beginner's gift pack," murmured Kaito, as he recalled where the True Longinus came from.

It's the equipment of a God Slayer, a device for confronting divine beings created by a supreme entity. This type of weapon adapted and evolved with its wielder, and to a certain extent, it was an intelligent weapon.

"But how is it possible for the witch's book to contain something like the God Slayer Equipment? Will other abilities appear in the future... for example, the ability to summon girls?"

The witch's book did not respond. Though it was a beginner's gift, it was also a mystery that Kaito would have to decipher over time.

But whatever happens, it was beyond his current understanding.

"Wait... since it so generously gave me the God Slayer Equipment, doesn't that mean this world will be very dangerous?"

Kaito didn't think that if he had transmigrated to a world like a romantic School Days, the witch's book would give him such a powerful weapon.

Reward often coexists with cost.

Furthermore, the identity of the witch's book owner, Raziel, was still unknown. But judging by the "gift pack" now, Raziel was definitely not as simple as an entity that only issued missions and gave rewards.

Perhaps now she was watching from the shadows, like a chess player moving her pieces.

For some reason, a graceful figure with a large pipe, leaning back on a couch, suddenly appeared in Kaito's mind.

"Step by step. First, I need to discover the specific use of the True Longinus."

Just as Kaito was about to leave the alleyway, he bumped into several light-haired, blue-eyed figures.

The three were males, with their disheveled, rebellious light hair, dark pendants and hoops in their earlobes and noses, and malicious smiles on their faces.

"Did I actually run into a scene of troublemaking thugs?"

Kaito instantly understood what was about to happen.

"Hey, boy, show me your money."

Kaito had just passed an English exam and naturally understood this phrase: "Money, a big no."

These three thugs obviously couldn't understand mixed grammar, but that didn't stop them from instantly grasping the meaning of Kaito's words.

After the threat came a gleaming knife.

Although Milan, Italy, was an internationally recognized metropolis, it also housed countless thieves and robbers.

The situation was now very clear.

If they didn't get the money, Kaito would inevitably end up injured.

"Then there's no other way."

Kaito sighed helplessly; he had wanted to spend the first few days in peace, but the world seemed to be working against him.

The witch's book opened, and the True Longinus materialized, appearing in Kaito's hand.

Although he didn't fully understand spear techniques, performing a flashy move was still very simple.

"Come on, guys," Kaito challenged with a smile.

When the three men in front saw this Eastern man suddenly pull a long spear from his hand and wield it expertly, several action movies instantly flooded their minds, and after yelling something about combat skills, they fled in panic.

"Uh... this is too realistic."

Kaito began to grumble.

However, it seems that combat skills were universally recognized, even these uncultivated foreign thugs knew it.

The True Longinus retracted back into the witch's book, and as he exited the alleyway, he saw a pale-skinned, light-haired young woman on the path, passing him by with a fragrant breeze.

She wore a deep crimson dress, unlike everyday clothes, which seemed quite luxurious and noble. Her golden hair was as dazzling as a lion's mane, her slightly childish cheeks possessed the tenderness of her age, but also revealed a noble and elegant temperament.

Seeing this light-haired young woman, Kaito was even more certain that he had come to another world.

After walking for about five minutes along the road, Kaito had to start thinking about where he would stay that night.

Sleep in a park? Bad choice.

However, just as he was considering whether or not to look for a safe place, his vision became covered in a deep crimson color.

"Excuse me? Galileo, glyph, glyph!"

Kaito looked up in surprise, only to see the young woman who had just passed him now standing in front of him, hands on her hips, head held high, saying something.

She could communicate something in English, but Italian? He simply couldn't.

"Do you speak English?" Kaito asked, hoping to communicate better.

The young woman frowned sadly: "Erica Brandelli."

"Indeed..."

Kaito made a decision.

The crimson dress, golden hair, combined with her arrogant attitude and her location in Milan, Italy.

This was undoubtedly the world of "Godslayer."

A world where the disobedient gods were freed from myths and wandered among humans, and humans gathered strength and wisdom to defeat the gods and become god-slayers.
