Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Plane Suppression

"How is this possible?" the Evil God cried out in panic. The formation behind her shattered completely, and in the midst of the collapse, she felt an aura—an aura of true divinity. It was pure, vast, and unfathomable, something far beyond her comprehension or control.

Everything she had pursued, all the effort she had painstakingly invested over countless years, had brought her to this moment. And now, the heavens were telling her… that her efforts couldn't compare to the luck of a mere child?

The immense illusion of the world began to collapse inward. In the midst of this chaos, Gu You's eyes widened slightly. All things began to retract, pulling back toward a central point.

The massive body of the Evil God began to condense, gradually transforming into a humanoid figure. At the same time, the towering vines that had spread out from the city's borders began to fade into nothingness. The countless corpses strewn across the battlefield, their blood long cold, began to disintegrate, turning into pure energy and flowing toward the figure that had taken shape.

Yuezi exhaled gently, but what she breathed out was a faint black mist. Eight long black vines unfurled from her back, reminiscent of the Eight Spider Lances. Nine pure-black spirit rings rose from beneath her feet, forming a terrifying and oppressive aura.

Her battle armor began to solidify. The energy emanating from her was no longer ordinary—it was the aura of a true Limit Douluo. The sheer pressure of it was so immense that even Gu You, with his divine domain, felt a cold chill creep down his spine. This oppressive force ignored the boundaries of cultivation and tore straight into his soul.

The figure before him was no longer beautiful as she had once been. She was a monster, draped in beauty and bathed in terror.

Everyone watching held their breath. No one dared make a sound. Facing a Limit Douluo was already terrifying enough—but this one was also a wicked Soul Master. That made her all the more dangerous, unpredictable, and lethal.

"You?" Yuezi's voice was flat and expressionless as she looked at Gu You. "You would stand against me?"

"I have no choice!" came a sudden voice. The Ice Jade Scorpion Emperor had reappeared, apparently having wandered off earlier, and now swaggered back with his group of little followers.

"Stop messing around and get back here!" Gu You snapped with a frown. He immediately summoned his divine beasts back into their spiritual domains.

"It's not like I want to," he muttered. "But do you think I have a choice?"

His divine wheel flared again. This time, both of his god-tier domains combined, the power of dual divinity surging outward. One suppressed everything in the environment, forcibly lowering all enemy attributes. The other elevated his own abilities to their limits. Together, they formed a terrifying synergy. And it didn't stop there—the domain also granted him a unique effect: twenty percent of all spirit power, divine power, or even blood vitality expended by his enemies would be redirected back to nourish him.

Even Yuezi, under such immense suppression, was forced back to the level of an ordinary Titled Douluo. Unfortunately, the biggest limitation of Gu You's domain was that it could only target one enemy at a time. Otherwise, the three Soul Douluos from the Star Generals faction, each equipped with One-Word Battle Armor, would've already teamed up with him to strike her down.

"So be it," Yuezi said. "Come… Let me see just how powerful someone chosen by the gods truly is."

She vanished.

In a split second, she reappeared in front of Gu You, and the eight black vines behind her lashed out, striking toward his face with a venomous force.

Gu You quickly ducked, narrowly avoiding the blow, and slammed his right foot into the ground.

Frozen Step!

This was one of the soul bone abilities of the Ice Jade Scorpion Emperor. The ground around him erupted with glacial spikes, sharp as blades and rising fast. Yuezi dodged nimbly, her body flickering to avoid the ice, but her third black soul ring suddenly lit up with a strange brilliance.

Evil God Thorn!

The very space around them seemed to be torn apart. A shadowy, formless black spike materialized directly behind Gu You. He should have been able to avoid it—he saw it, he felt it, he reacted. But in that moment, something descended from the heavens.

A force. An invisible suppression that clamped down on him.

It wasn't from Yuezi. It wasn't from the battlefield. It was from above—far above. From the very heavens themselves. Planar suppression.

The spike pierced through his chest.

Time froze.

Gu You stood there, his expression stunned. His chest was impaled, blood pouring down his robes.

Despite the excruciating pain, Gu You threw his head back and laughed, a mad, unrestrained laughter that echoed across the battlefield. Black blood oozed from the corners of his lips, staining his teeth.

"Well played, Lord of the Plane… Well played, Tang Hao!" he laughed bitterly. "You really want me dead that badly, don't you? Hahaha!"

"I once held no grudge against your Tang Clan. I even considered forming an alliance. But now?"

He gritted his teeth. Rage flared in his eyes.

"I've changed my mind."

"A true Lord of the Plane should be impartial! Not some petty puppet abusing divine authority to tip the scales in favor of the wicked!"

"You side with evil, turn your back on justice… Tell me, Tang Hao—do you deserve to live?"

His laughter grew louder. "Fine! Then hear this—when I become a god, the first thing I'll do is brew you a nice pot of banlangen tea! I won't even ask where the ingredients come from. Doesn't matter. After all, there's a perfect specimen growing right next to you. Been there for centuries. Should be just right for one hell of a dose!"

The sky trembled. Thunder roared overhead.

In the distance, the Star Generals could no longer hear what Gu You was saying. But they felt the earth tremble. They felt the storm rising. And they could only sigh… sigh at the fall of a genius.

Yuezi stood silently, watching the boy who still cursed and laughed in the face of death. She felt it too—that dangerous, incomprehensible force.

If she killed him now, something terrifying would descend upon her. Something absolute. Something final.

And it would erase her from existence.
