Chapter 261 - Chapter 261: Soul Bone Freedom

The deeper he went, the larger the dragon bones became. Those towering piles of remains were like small mountain ranges.

Faint dragon roars echoed in his ears, shaking the sky and earth. Gu You felt as though he had returned to an ancient battlefield where dragons fell one after another, besieged by enemies from all directions.

This once-dominant race that ruled the entire continent had gradually declined in those wars.

Facing these remains, Gu You couldn't help but sigh. 'What a mighty race… If these were all real dragons, what kind of terrifying army would that have been? Yet, even such a force still fell. Even the weakest of true dragons must have been comparable to a human Title Douluo.'

Some of those massive bones were thousands of meters tall. Their strength had clearly reached a level he could no longer comprehend—god-level.

'Has the dragon race really fallen this far?'

Feeling the surging bloodline within him, Gu You sighed and continued walking deeper into the valley.

At the center of the valley lay the final and largest skeleton—each piece felt as heavy as a mountain or river.

Only when the final piece was fitted in place did Gu You wipe the sweat from his brow.

A yellow glow pulsed beside the Mountain Dragon King's remains. As with every day before, a dragon soul emerged.

Looking at the Mountain Dragon King's soul, Gu You felt a trace of regret. It wasn't even one percent the size of the original body. But even so, this soul still stood over thirty meters tall. It had no wings and crawled awkwardly from the pit.

"Come," Gu You placed two fingers against his temple while pointing at the soul with the other hand.

The earthy-yellow dragon soul instantly turned into motes of light and shot into Gu You's mind.

All the dragon bones were buried. The dragon souls had been nearly all absorbed.

But there was one more thing left—true dragon soul bones.

Gu You waved his hand, and beams of light shot into the sky from all the burial pits. Each light was a different hue, merging into a beautiful nine-colored glow.

The entire sky was filled with true dragon soul bones!

Even though he'd expected it, Gu You still couldn't help but grin.

'Looking at this… there must be seven or eight hundred of them. Soul bone freedom at last!'

'Which one should I choose first?'

He pondered. This time, he would fully equip himself.

First, he'd absorb the Dragon King-level soul bone.

With a point of his finger, a crystal-clear soul bone shimmering with brilliant light flew to him.

'Too bad only the Mountain Dragon King's bones remain here.'

Gu You shook his head, sat down, and began to meditate.

Several other beams of light soared toward him, leaving rainbow trails in the sky.

All at once, they rushed into his body. Gu You suddenly felt his body become incredibly heavy, as though solidifying into stone.

He felt like he had become a mountain—an immovable range. Land, oceans, volcanoes, and frozen fields all connected to him, while energy poured into him from every direction.

In that moment, it was as if he could hear dragons beneath the earth roaring in joy for him.

The absorption didn't take long. Gu You suddenly sensed his awareness broaden. Though his eyes were closed, everything around him became crystal clear.

He could clearly feel his bones—spine, sternum, ribs, skull—all glowing with radiant luster. Especially his torso. It was like his bones had been encased in diamond armor, granting him an indescribable sense of strength.

'They've merged…'

Gu You blinked, realizing the Mountain Dragon King's torso bone had devoured the Titan Snow Demon King's.

'This… this is the dominance of true power.'

Even so, the Titan Snow Demon King's ice attributes had fused with the Mountain Dragon King's. Now, Gu You's soul bone carried a trace of ice.

'Everything really can be fused…'

He chuckled. Now his soul bones were complete.

Aside from a few previously obtained ones, the rest were all true dragon soul bones.

A full set of soul bones had elevated his power to a whole new level, especially the torso bone.

Among the six types of soul bones, head and torso bones were the most precious and impactful—not to mention the incredibly rare external soul bones.

The Mountain Dragon King's torso bone, as the strongest defensive inheritance from the Dragon God's lineage, was undoubtedly the finest torso bone of all. With it, Gu You's physical defenses had reached terrifying levels.

"It's time to leave…"

Three months later.

Spirit Pagoda Headquarters, Douluo Continent.

"You want to enlist?" Leng Yaozhu stared at Gu You, disbelief on her face.

"Yes. I've made up my mind. I want to go to Blood God Army. So I'm here to ask you for a letter of recommendation." Gu You smiled calmly.

"Do they know?" she asked, expression serious.

"I just decided. They… don't." Gu You shook his head.

"You really are an idiot… Forget it. I won't say more. Are you sure about this?" she sighed.

She wasn't against him joining, but once Gu You enlisted, the secret of the Abyss would no longer be hidden.

Though it was inevitable, she knew Gu You's nature—he might stir up something big.

"I've grown up. A little rebellion is normal." Gu You clasped his hands behind his back.

"I'll rebel you!" she snapped. "Fine, give me a few days. Come back for it. In the meantime, do something useful, would you?"

"Got it, Teacher!"

---

Shrek Academy.

"You're saying you can transfer the Golden Dragon King's seal from me?" Tang Wulin's face was filled with surprise.

"Yeah. I need that power for my journey. A lot happened to me while I was away." Gu You nodded.

Ten golden threads shot from his hands, piercing into Tang Wulin's mind.

Tang Wulin's body went limp, and he fainted.

Three days later.

Gu You circled around Mingdu and entered the western region of the continent. The infrastructure there was highly developed—especially the thousand kilometers surrounding Mingdu.

Two more days passed. Then the endless desert came into view.

This time, he'd told no one of his departure.

Only Tang Wulin and Leng Yaozhu knew.

The transfer of the Golden Dragon King seal had also granted him the Golden Dragon Spear. He hadn't touched the other seals—there was no need yet.

'When the true battle comes, I'll deal with it…'

Gu You knew his days of peace were numbered.

The western region hadn't originally belonged to the Douluo Continent. Over ten thousand years ago, the collision of tectonic plates had brought the Sun-Moon Continent into contact with it.

That area had once been territory of the Sun-Moon Empire. The rapid advancement of soul tool technology stemmed from the rare metals that continent had introduced.

In the desert, Gu You adjusted his off-road vehicle into sand mode. It still ran smoothly, though the speed slowed.

The greatest strength of soul tool tech? For soul masters, power shortage would never be a problem. When energy ran low—just use yourself…
