After a brief interval, Kylion and two of his guards, riding on horses and accompanied by some soldiers, made their appearance. Her beautiful lover was also among them, trailing a few steps ahead of them.
Taking a deep breath, Apollonia reflected on Adrianne’s concerns. If the emperor were to discover her connection with Kylion, she had no idea what consequences they might face. All the efforts they had undertaken to conceal their connection could be in vain.
