“Haa…” Kylion let out a sigh and allowed himself to sink back onto the bed. Each of Evangelin’s words reverberated in his mind.
She had set him free. The woman who had once been consumed by the need to possess him had, in the end, saved him with her own hands and released him from her grasp. Her love had overcome her desire to claim him.
‘Then what about me?’
He thought of Apollonia, who had danced so joyfully with Uriel at the ball, and the image of them kissing in Nox’s cabin. The burning anger he had felt then still lingered in his memory, an emotion that had threatened to consume him.
Those vivid recollections continued to haunt him.
