Evangelin rested her chin on her hand, gazing out the window.
“It’s way past the time he said he’d be back.”
A flurry of tiny monsters fluttered in and out of the open window, some even delivering bits of paper adorned with minuscule words.
However, the news she longed for did not arrive.
“Nothing’s quicker than a one-eyed crow.”
A weary sigh escaped Evangelin’s lips. Ever since Kylion had asked about the croadins, a sense of unease had settled upon her.
It was quite unusual for her, was known for her straightforward nature, always speaking her mind and doing as she pleased.
“That stubborn punk,” Evangelin muttered under her breath, thinking of Kylion.
He was the most charming creature she had ever laid eyes on. She adored his looks, his voice, and his blunt yet warm demeanor. That was why she yearned to have him by her side, much like the way she tamed her fantastical creatures.
“You’re confusing love with possession.”
