As Petra turned and made her way down the stairs, an attendant quietly trailed behind her.
She couldn’t quite explain why she was fixated on seeking out Adrianne in particular. There was just this unsettling feeling gnawing at her, a need to grasp Apollonia’s weakness up close.
Simultaneously, she wanted to reassure herself that there was no basis for her anxiety.
After descending about five steps, Petra suddenly halted, as if struck by a realization.
She turned her head and addressed Ethan, who was still waiting atop the castle wall.
“Have the archers stand ready. If Apollonia happens to approach, let the arrows loose the moment she enters our range.”
Ethan, who had been trailing her, nodded and came to a stop.
‘Come if you dare,’ Petra thought to herself.
Regardless of what tricks Apollonia had up her sleeve, it would all end if she were shot down.
There would be no need for a psychological battle if she was dead.
