Fred stood with two security agents. He wasn't taking chances.
His eyes were hard as steel. "You cannot let her know you're watching," he began.
"If you see the press, swoop her out of there immediately," he continued, pacing slowly. "No hesitation."
The agents nodded.
"If anyone's creeping around her… make them go away," Fred added, pausing in front of one of the men. His stare was sharp. "I don't care if you have to threaten them."
"You build a secure wall around that woman. A pin not cleared cannot get through. No accidents. No goddamn excuses."
Fred knew the stakes. Alex Baldwin didn't love easily. But Fred had seen the look in his eyes when he spoke about Eva—really spoke about her. Alex might pretend she was just a sexual entanglement, a distraction from the empire he'd built—but Fred knew better.
"Yes, sir." The man nodded, adjusting the sleek earpiece in his ear as Fred dismissed him with a curt nod.
