Chapter 74 - Ch 73 Going on Dates? Part -2

The next morning in Cerulean was soft and bright, the sunlight spilling gently through the curtains of Misty's room. She stood before the mirror, brushing her long orange hair with trembling hands. Her heart was beating faster than any gym match she'd ever fought.

Delia leaned against the doorframe, smiling knowingly. "You look lovely, Misty. Akg's going to be speechless."

Misty turned red, almost dropping her brush. "D-Delia! It's not like that! We're just going to the lake to relax!"

Delia chuckled. "Sure, sure. Just don't forget to enjoy it, dear."

By the time Akg arrived, Misty was already waiting near the center's entrance. She wore a light-blue sundress that fluttered in the breeze, perfectly matching her eyes. When Akg saw her, a soft smile formed on his lips.

"You look beautiful, Misty," he said simply.

She froze, color rising to her cheeks. "T-Thank you… you're not so bad yourself," she mumbled, pretending to look away.

They climbed onto shiny Pidgeot's back together. Misty hesitated for a moment before wrapping her arms around his waist. The great bird took off, wings slicing through the crisp morning air.

As they soared over green fields and silver rivers, Misty felt the world melt away — it was just her, the wind, and the man in front of her. She could feel his calm heartbeat, steady and reassuring beneath her hands. For a moment, she wished this flight would never end.

They landed by a secluded lake surrounded by soft hills and wildflowers. The air smelled of pine and water lilies, and the lake sparkled like liquid crystal. Misty stepped off first, smiling in awe.

"It's beautiful… thank you for bringing me here, Akg."

He nodded, setting down their small picnic basket. "You've been working hard at the gym and traveling non-stop. You deserve a little peace."

Misty sat near the water's edge, removing her sandals to dip her feet into the cool lake. Akg sat beside her, quietly watching the ripples spread. For a long moment, they said nothing — just listening to the gentle sound of water and birdsong.

Then Misty broke the silence. "You know… when I first met you, I thought you were too serious. But the more time I spend with you, the more I realize… you're kind. You always notice what others need, even before they say it."

Akg glanced at her, a faint smile touching his lips. "That's because I care about my loved ones… especially you."

Her heart fluttered at the last words, and she quickly turned her gaze to the lake, hiding her blush. "You really know how to say things that make girls' hearts race, don't you?"

He chuckled softly. "Only when I mean them."

They talked for a while about their journeys, dreams, and favorite Pokémon. Misty told him about her dream of becoming a world-class Water-type trainer and opening her own training center someday. Akg listened intently, admiring her determination.

"You'll do it," he said. "You've got more heart than most trainers I've met."

Her smile widened. "You really think so?"

"I know so," he replied.

Feeling playful, Misty scooped up a handful of water and splashed it at him. "That's for making me blush!" she laughed.

Akg blinked in surprise before smiling mischievously. "Oh really?" He flicked some water back at her, and soon they were both laughing and splashing like children. Misty's laughter rang across the lake — bright, genuine, and free.

But in her excitement, she slipped on a smooth stone. Before she could fall, Akg caught her by the waist, pulling her close. For a heartbeat, time seemed to stop. Their faces were only inches apart — her wet hair clinging to her cheeks, his eyes steady and calm.

Misty's voice came out barely above a whisper. "You… caught me."

"Always," he murmured.

Her heart skipped, and she quickly looked away, trying to hide her reddened face as he gently helped her stand straight again.

As the sun began to set, the two sat side by side, wrapped in quiet peace. The lake reflected the golden-orange sky, and the sound of waves lapping the shore filled the air. Misty leaned her head on Akg's shoulder.

"Thank you," she said softly. "For today. I don't remember the last time I felt this happy."

Akg looked down at her, his expression gentle. "You deserve happiness, Misty. Don't forget that."

They stayed like that until the stars began to peek through the dusk. On the flight back, Misty fell asleep against Akg's back, her hands still resting around him.

As Pidgeot glided through the twilight sky, Akg glanced back, brushing a strand of hair from her face. The corners of his lips lifted in a quiet smile.

"Sleep well, Misty," he whisper

And then reaching cerulean gym , he put misty in her room to sleep and kiss her forehead gently then lay down besides her and drifted back to sleep
