Chapter 1 - money

The school bell rings out and a young boy just barely a teenager leaves the building walking as everyone else is running to their parents to be driven home. In each hand he brings with himself a child, twins named Donnie and Emily. They walk hand in hand stepping over the curb and down the sidewalk several blocks until they get home.

The place can't really be called a home more like a prison masquerading as low income housing. The only thing that awaits him behing that door is a scream coming from the mouth of the donkey that pushed him out. Yet he still opens the door, he has tried to have him and his siblings taken from her grasp but the system is broken and corrupted. All she has to do is bend over and share her "love" and all of a sudden they inspected their family and found nothing wrong.

He opens the door and just like every other day he hears her voice not that it can be understood. All he understands is the wallet thrown at him... just enough to buy her cheap liquor.

"Go sit on thr couch i'll put on your cartoons." He said letting them run over to the old barely holding couch.

He turns on the tv kicking it until the static goes away and changes it to the flash cartoon that camme out shortly after he was born.

(How do they manage to keep it going and still be original?)

Shortly after doing that he leaves for the conveniance store walking through the mushy lawn and the broken toy ridden sidewalk. He stops at the road as cars and trucks pass by some honking at the ones in front of them for taking too long. When the cars pass he crosses the road his feet tapping against the pavement but are drowned out by the noise of a car honking as the man ran a red light almost hitting him.

He enters the conveniance store throwing the wallet onto the counter as he grabs a bottle of whiskey and sets it on the counter.

"Your mom again?" The man asks.

"Yeah, her." He said letting out a large sigh.

"I'm sorry I've already done everything i can, i even got a restraining order from how many times i reported her." The man said.

"I know and im sorry Javier." He said.

"Don't worry about it grab some food while you're here... on the house." He said.

"Thanks man." He said as he grabbed some bread and lunch meat before turning to leave.

"Hey, you night need this." The man said before passing him a cold energy drink.

"A life saver." He said before leaving.

He cracks open the can and chugs half of it before coming up for air. He rarely sleeps since he stays up to protect his siblings as hr has no way of keeping track of that womans actions when hes asleep. What little sleep he does get is duting his classes causing his grade to fall to just barely passing.

He looks over finding a man carrying a machine into an abandoned facility across the street. He follows behind the man crosding the street but before the man enters the building he looks back looking around for anyone trying to follow him. He hid behind a barrel food and liquor still in hand. When he hrars the man open the doot he comes out from behind the barrel. He rushes to thr door stopping it from closing with his foot.

He sets the bag down and enters quietly behind the man as the door closes with a loud clank. He follows behind the man down the worn twisting and turning stone hallways. They eventually stop at a set of large doors before the man steps within. Soon a ringing is heard and the man taps his watch.

"Did you finally get it?" A man asked from the other side.

"Yes gimme a break this time period is so primitive." The man spoke into the watch.

The man slotted the part in his hand into the machine and quickly left the room. He stepped out from behind the table and searched the room. He looked around for anything of value but found only tools like screwdrivers and ratchets.

(How am i supposed to feed my siblings next week search Sokudo search!)

He walked around the room stopping at the machine. It was a large dodecahedron shaped frame with a smaller dodecahedron within with a removed panel revealing the area where the man slotted the device.

(What even is this thing, can i sell it?)

He examined the device when a noise begins to come from within it. He taps on the device for a bit when something falls from above the ceiling panels. It lands on him pushing him to the ground.

"Augh what the hell?" He said before looking up and seeing a boy around his age with black hair and light brown eyes.

"Who are you?" The boy asked but is unable to get an answer as the machine explodes destroying the entire building with it.

Sokudo wakes up within the burning rubble of the building he was in. He stumbles to his feet and looks around for the boy he saw just before the explosion. He struggles through the rubblr as his vision blurs and wobbles. He jerks as the sound of sirens suddenly enter his ears.

(I need to get out of her before the PCPD surround the place!)

He abandons his attempts to find the boy and instead focuses on getting himself back home when he notices the blood gushing out of his rib.

(Ow a rib must of punctured my skin!)

He walks through the rubble as the sirens get closer when a beam falls before him. He crawls under the beam its cracks scraped against his back. When he stands up on the other side he's free. He doesnt stop, instead he continues walking until his apartment enters his vision. His vision begins to blur and his body begins to shake. He gets do the door but loses the strength to stand and eventually collapses unconscious against the door.
