Seraphina's POV
"Light the torches!" Kira gave order, her sword already half drawn.
But none of them moved, the place itself felt so suffocating, it was pressing down on us, strong and not natural. But only Lyric's golden-silver eyes that glowed faintly in the pitch black like two stars refusing to be covered.
My pulse surged very loud while I held him closer saying, "It's all right, baby, I have got you."
But his tiny voice spoke in my mind again, trembling and certain: "Mother, he's here."
Caelum stepped forward, his outline was like a shadow among shadows. He tore his own blade free, the steel was ready in the silence. For once, there was no Alpha authority in his position, just only his raw desperation.
Then, slowly, he fell to his knees, the scratch of his sword was heard on the stone floor, it was deafening in the dark. He laid the weapon flat before him, his head bowed, his shoulders were trembling.
"Seraphina." His voice sounded out my name.
