Lydia
What now? Is he going to hit me? I wondered, looking at him, my heart racing in fear.
"Lydia… Don't get me wrong," he said. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, all the anger had vanished.
I stared at him without saying a word. I didn't even know what to say at this point.
Then, gently, he held my hand.
"Wolfless or not, you are my mate, and I love and accept you the way you are," he spoke calmly.
"And about your family… I'll send word out for them to be found," he spoke, and I fought the urge to smile because I didn't know if he meant it or not.
"Trust me. I will bring them back," he added. I guessed he already knew I didn't fully trust his words.
"Okay, thank you," I said and gently removed my hand from his.
Then I remembered something… Ophelia!
"Please, I need to speak to Ophelia," I pleaded, and he nodded.
"I'll go get her for you," he said and walked outside.
