I couldn't wait behind anymore. The fear of the unknown was stretching and more scary than what was out there.
Or so I thought.
I opened the door carefully, not wanting to attract any sound though I was sure everyone in the house was awake because of that alarming scream.
My bare legs tiptoed on the tiled floor of the hallway as I made it to the staircase. I stood on the barricade, leaning to see what was happening downstairs.
However the view was that point was not the best as I could only see the head of some people. I knew something bad had happened from the grim look on everyone's face, especially the one on my mates face.
He was standing at the corner of the living room, yelling into the phone. I couldn't hear what he was saying but from the amount of rage that was etched in his face, it wasn't anything nice.
I contemplated on going downstairs or not, he'll definitely be mad if he noticed me, but before I could even decide against it, my legs started moving already.
