Chapter 89 - Chapter 88: Instructions for the Grain Offering

The Lord continued with His instructions saying,

"When anyone brings Me a grain offering, it must be of fine flour. Pour oil on it, place incense upon it, and bring it to Aaron's sons, the priests. The priest shall take a handful of the flour, oil, and incense, and burn it on the altar as a memorial portion—an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to Me. The rest shall belong to Aaron and his sons; it is most holy among the offerings made to Me by fire.

If you bring a grain offering baked in the oven, let it be of fine flour—cakes without yeast, mixed with oil, or wafers without yeast, spread with oil.

If your offering is prepared on a griddle, let it be of fine flour mixed with oil, without yeast. Break it into pieces, pour oil on it, and present it as a grain offering.

If it is cooked in a pan, it shall be of fine flour with oil. Bring these before Me, present them to the priest, and he shall take them to the altar. From these he shall remove the memorial portion and burn it upon the altar, an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to Me. The remainder shall belong to Aaron and his sons—it is most holy.

Remember this: every grain offering you present must be without yeast. Do not burn yeast or honey as an offering made to Me by fire. You may bring them as firstfruits, but never place them on the altar as a pleasing aroma.

Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of My covenant out of them. With every offering you present, add salt.

And if you bring a grain offering of firstfruits, present crushed heads of new grain roasted in the fire. Put oil and incense on it—it is a grain offering. The priest shall burn the memorial portion of the crushed grain, oil, and incense as an offering made to Me by fire."
