Chapter 91 - Chapter 90: Instructions for the Sin Offering

The Lord kept speaking to Moses, saying, "Tell the Israelites: When anyone Sims unintentionally breaking any of my commands, he is guilty.

If the priest himself sins, bringing guilt upon the people, he must bring a young bull without defect as a sin offering. He shall present it at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, lay his hand upon its head, and slaughter it before Me. The anointed priest shall then take some of the blood into the Tent of Meeting, sprinkle it seven times before the curtain, and place some on the horns of the altar of incense. The rest of the blood shall be poured at the base of the altar of burnt offering. The fat, the kidneys, and the covering of the liver he shall burn upon the altar, but the hide, flesh, head, legs, inner parts, and offal he shall carry outside the camp to the place of ashes, and burn it with fire.

If Israel as a whole sins without knowing it, they remain guilty. Once the sin is made known, the assembly must bring a young bull before Me. The elders shall lay their hands on its head, and it shall be slaughtered before Me. The anointed priest shall take its blood into the Tent, sprinkle it seven times, touch the horns of the altar, pour out the rest at the base of the altar of burnt offering, remove the fat and burn it. Then the bull itself shall be carried outside the camp and consumed by fire, just like the first. By this, the priest makes atonement for the people, and they will be forgiven

If a ruler sins unintentionally, breaking My commands, when he becomes aware of it, he must bring a male goat without defect. He shall lay his hand upon its head and slaughter it at the place of burnt offerings. The priest shall take its blood, touch the horns of the altar, pour the rest at the base, and burn the fat as with the fellowship offering. Thus atonement is made for him, and he will be forgiven.

If one of the people sins unintentionally, when he realizes his guilt, he shall bring a female goat without defect. He shall lay his hand upon its head, slaughter it at the place of burnt offerings, and the priest shall put some of its blood on the horns of the altar, pouring the rest at its base. The fat shall be removed and burned on the altar, a pleasing aroma to Me. In this way, the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

If he brings a lamb instead, it must be a female without defect. He shall lay his hand on its head, slaughter it at the place of burnt offerings, and the priest shall put its blood on the horns of the altar, pouring the rest at the base. The fat shall be removed as with the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it upon the altar. Thus atonement is made, and he will be forgiven.'"
