Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Cooperation with Dr. Brief

As soon as Dr. Wheelo's voice fell, three dark figures emerged from the surrounding shadows, surrounding Lynx and Tights.

Each one looked bizarre:

One was huge and balloon-like, almost like an inflated blob.

Another was entirely green, covered with squirming tentacles.

The third appeared somewhat normal—a red-haired muscle-bound brute.

"Who am I? You don't deserve to know," Lynx said as he took Tights's hand and began floating upward.

"Wait… you can fly?!"

Tights was utterly stunned. She looked beneath Lynx's feet, expecting jet thrusters—but there was no flame, no noise. How was he floating?

"Trying to escape, are you?! You think you can get away from my top-grade bio-warriors—created with the pinnacle of bio-technology?"

"Kishime! Misokatsun! Ebifurya! Take them—!"

But before Dr. Wheelo could finish, Lynx soared upward with Tights, ignoring the ceiling entirely.

Just as they were about to crash into it, Tights screamed and shut her eyes—

Only for Lynx to casually raise a finger. A spark of energy shot out, blasting a hole clean through the alloyed ceiling.

"What?! My lab was reinforced with super-alloy! How can it be breached so easily?!" Wheelo exclaimed.

Up in the sky, Tights realized she hadn't hit anything. Opening her eyes slightly, she suddenly gasped:

"W-We're flying?! This feels amazing—ah… ah-CHOO!"

Noticing her shiver from the cold, Lynx extended his other hand and transferred a bit of his ki to warm her.

"Wow! Incredible!

Oh right, you never answered me—are you really an alien?"

Floating with Lynx a thousand meters in the sky, Tights showed no fear at all. Clearly, the Brief family wasn't normal.

"Yeah. My name is Lynx, a Saiyan from Planet Vegeta."

"Planet Vegeta? A Saiyan?"

Tights suddenly looked as if she had seen a ghost.

"Wait—you're not here to invade Earth, are you?!"

Tights had actually heard of Saiyans before, thanks to her alien friend Jaco.

"You must've heard that from Jaco?"

"You know Jaco?!"

"The Galactic Patrolman Jaco? Yeah, I've heard of him."

"That unreliable guy is actually famous?" she muttered. Then she noticed Lynx spreading his fingers toward the ground.

"Wait, what are you doing?"

"Tying up loose ends. That Dr. Wheelo won't give up so easily. I rescued you once, but I won't always be around.

Better to eliminate the threat now," Lynx said calmly.

Whoosh!A glowing sphere shot from his hand, streaking back along the path they came and diving into Wheelo's lab.

It landed right before the three bio-warriors and Dr. Wheelo's brain module.

"What's this?" Wheelo muttered as he and his creations stared at the sphere.

The next instant, it exploded in a blinding flash—a massive wave of energy devoured everything in the lab.

BOOOOM!!!

The mad scientist who dreamed of world domination, along with his unused bio-warriors, were utterly annihilated.

Tights stared at the enormous explosion below, jaw slack and body trembling.

"M-My god… Jaco was right… you aliens are insane!"

"Hey, I just saved you. That's not a nice thing to say," Lynx said with a grin.

"Ah—sorry!" Tights said sincerely, then quickly bowed.

"Let me start over. I'm Tights, Dr. Brief's eldest daughter. Thank you for rescuing me."

Lynx looked at the short-haired girl before him and smiled—he found her kind of amusing.

What he didn't know was that under that smile, Tights's heart had already started to race uncontrollably…

Meanwhile, back in West City, inside the Brief residence—

After quickly dealing with the police, Dr. Brief rushed back into the living room.

There, Mrs. Brief was cheerfully entertaining Hanasia with cake and milk tea.

And to Dr. Brief's dismay, he saw little Bulma curiously poking at Hanasia's tail while the Saiyan warrior stuffed her face with cake.

A cold sweat ran down his temple.

*This little brat… doesn't she realize how dangerous this is?!

If she angers that alien, we're all dead!*

But just then, two figures materialized in the center of the living room.

It was Lynx and Tights, back via Instant Transmission.

"Big Sis!""Your Majesty!""Tights!"

A chorus of voices filled the room.

Bulma jumped up and hugged her sister, Mrs. Brief threw her arms around Tights, and Hanasia stood and offered Lin Chen a slice of cake.

"Your Majesty, try this! The food on this planet is amazing!"

Lynx politely declined with a smile, then turned to the still-stunned Dr. Brief.

"Dr. Brief, your daughter has been safely returned."

"T-Thank you, Mr. Lynx. And that Dr. Wheelo…?"

"He won't be bothering anyone ever again."

Dr. Brief adjusted his glasses.

"I… I see. Then thank you again. So, may I ask—what brings you to Earth?"

"Darling, he just saved our daughter! Can't business wait?" Mrs. Brief pouted.

"I'll go prepare something delicious. We must treat him properly!"

"Go ahead, Ma'am. Dr. Brief and I can talk while we wait.

Hanasia!"

"Yes, Ma'am! Let me help in the kitchen. I want to see how you made all those amazing things earlier!"

Hanasia quickly pulled the sisters and Mrs. Brief along, giving Lynx and Dr. Brief some privacy.

Now alone, Lynx got straight to the point:

"Dr. Brief, I'll be blunt. I came here to ask for your help."

Dr. Brief rubbed his hands together.

"Mr. Lynx, with power like yours, I don't know what help I could possibly offer…"

"While Saiyans are much stronger than Earthlings, we lack scientific development.

That's why I hope to gain technological support from you and Capsule Corporation—to provide the Saiyan race with advanced equipment and tech."
