In their home planet "Mon' Atir", the Goldifen Race was thriving for a thousand years now.
They were one of the most fortunate of races, as the planet where their species came to be, was a rich planet with nearly exhaustible resources. Its valuable minerals and crystals pushed their species to develop rapidly but steadily.
They discovered the concept of trade early on which leaned their race's culture to be vastly influenced by it, creating currency, putting value on everything they sold or bought and discovering universal terms like banking, investing and interest.
In that early period of their flourishing, they discovered something amazing about their race. For reasons unknown, even until now, the more wealth a Goldifen Race individual gathers and master as his own, the more his physical and mental powers grow.
As their golden feathers become lusher and more vibrant in color the more wealth they accumulate, some theorized the Goldifen Race was created by the planet's collective resources' valuableness. Because of that, each of their bodies carried a unique connection with anything that had a value.
So, with their continuous growth, it didn't take long for geniuses to emerge. Every single one of them went on to develop technologies that would help build their race's future. Such technologies were the planetary defense system which could safeguard them from space threats.
Reaching that point, the Goldifen Race reached a dead end in their development on their planet, so they next cast their sights beyond it. They managed to make contact with interstellar civilizations and having the defensive measures to place them on equal footing with them proved useful in striking deals between them.
The smart Goldifen Race went on to exchange valuable resources of their planet for more technology, and more specifically, technology about space and inter galactic travel.
Those technologies in turn proved helpful for broadening their reach to other systems and planets, transforming them slowly from a single planet's race into a space trading empire, which had its "golden" hand in many races' economies.
They were so expansive and influential they at some point caught the attention of the Gelic Alliance - a superpower compiled of the most powerful and technologically superior organizations and empires, originated at the Gelicoum Star Cluster. The Alliance wanted their growing trading empire to join them as one of their inner circle's members, and the Goldifen Race had no reason to refuse.
That was two centuries ago.

In the main building of the Aureate Company - the most powerful, at the moment, company on the planet - business was progressing as usual.
From the ground floor and all the way to the top floor, everyone was working. Deliveries to the multitude of offices were being delivered, completed files were being sent or transported for archiving and short messages were being passed on by the low-ranking employees.
The ground floor's reception always had people traversing it, either by those entering to start their work or by those who leave or go on a break. The elevators were working all the time, bringing people up and down to all the floors.
Every booth on every floor had a Goldifen Race member using their terminals to edit or complete files of transactions and deals, and managers were present checking their finished documents.
Everyone was used to their daily work schedule and their working environment was orderly and, in a weird way, peaceful.
In addition, as the most powerful company on the planet, they had security measures and guards in place but not many. Unfortunately, because in the past half millennium or so no one dared to attack them in their home planet, they grew complacent about their power, strongly believing that no one would be stupid enough to stir up trouble.
All was going well, just like any other day, with a few visitors of different races entering their building to contact business with them.
At some point of the day, a peculiar visitor entered in their establishment. He appeared to be belonging to a humanoid species but without any special body features to help them identify it.
The people on the ground floor saw him looking around searching for something, and when he looked in the direction of the elevators, he seemed like a child seeing something for the first time.
'What a weird person' Most of them thought.
When they later saw him walking towards the stairs and using them to go up instead of the elevators, many of them shook their heads disapprovingly as they were mostly there for emergency purposes.
For the next minutes and with every floor the weird visitor passed, the Aureate Company's employees who caught sight of him would think similar things about his actions.

On the top floor, quietness was dominating the place. Only the few rustles of papers from the secretary's organizing were being heard.
The security guard beside her was one of the best in the company, stationed there to oversee that no one unrelated passed further inside.
'Sigh. Another boring day of work' lamented the security guard in his mind. His work and duty were almost non-important, as very rarely would someone try to force his way inside. If the pay wasn't so good, he would have changed jobs ages ago.
"Sigh" during his fifth sighing today, he caught sight of someone coming up the stairs. Immediately, the security guard drove the boredom away and looked alive, ready for anything; he was a professional when it mattered.
The person was someone of a different race, so the possibility of dropping a file to the secretary, like very few employees do, was impossible.
The guard watched the person walking towards them calmly, his intention to go further clear as day. He glanced at the secretary, silently asking her if they were expecting a visitor with an appointment. The secretary shook her head, indicating a no for an answer.
'It has been many years since a foolish one tried to meet the bosses without an appointment' Getting the confirmation from the secretary, the guard moved to block the person's way.
"Stop right there! You are not allowed to go any further!"
The person stopped on his tracks, glanced once at the secretary and twice at him. The guard expected him to start pleading to let him pass, promising a profitable deal for the company or whatsoever.
Instead, the person just side-stepped trying to pass by his side. The guard caught his movement immediately and blocked his way again. Figuring out that the person in front of him was someone sly he proceeded to end his willful hopes by pushing him back. If that didn't work out, there were many other ways to give him a lesson.
His hand was about to touch the person's body, ready to apply force to push him back, but he never got the chance to do it. He faintly caught a glimpse of the person waving his hand as if he was shooing a flying insect away from his face.
The guard felt himself weigh nothing and then his surrounding became a blur for a split second.
The next he knew, was crushing and being planted in the wall, displayed like a decorative work of art. Before he made head or tails of his odd situation he lost consciousness.
The spectating secretary was horrified. Her normal brain incapable of understanding what she witnessed. One of the strongest guards in their company was thrown, or more like flown to the nearby wall with such force he stayed there, by an unassuming weak looking person who didn't even touch him.
She was on the verge of screaming her lungs out for help when that person looked at her. Before she passed out, she witnessed the scariest thing she would ever witness in her entire life.
An enormous shadow of overwhelming presence, with eyes capable of seeing the deepest parts of her soul, scooping every single of her secrets out in the open, making her feel insignificant like a speck of dust.
The place was again quiet. Nobody else was there now, conscious at least, to watch as the person very calmly continued on his way further inside.
