Ever since the monster's tail appeared, Dr. Serizawa's team had already spotted it in a news broadcast. After confirming it was real, their cruise ship began sailing toward Tokyo Bay while monitoring the creature's developments on live television.
However, once the monster landed, Dr. Serizawa realized this creature wasn't the godlike being they had imagined. They named it Godzilla, but purely based on its appearance, it didn't quite match the records they had of the original Godzilla.
Still, regardless of whether this monster in Tokyo Bay was truly Godzilla or not, its sheer size made it clear—it wasn't any ordinary species from Earth.
So even though it might not have been the real Godzilla, Dr. Serizawa still ordered their vessel to move at full speed, hoping to make contact with this new creature.
But as soon as Clark appeared on the news broadcast, Dr. Serizawa had a terrible premonition.
Though the monster had yet to display its abilities, and its actual strength was still unknown, everyone in the room mentally simulated the outcome of a battle between it and Superman. And silently, they all reached the same conclusion: this monster was going to have a very bad day.
Especially when Superman's right hand began glowing—many of the researchers started mourning the creature. Even though they weren't part of the same organization (they believed Superman was part of the Avengers, and the Avengers fell under S.H.I.E.L.D., so Superman must be with S.H.I.E.L.D.), anyone who had seen Clark in action had a rough understanding of one fact: Superman was invincible.
They then watched as Superman raised his glowing right hand, clenched it into a fist, and hurled it toward the monster.
"No!"
Dr. Serizawa instinctively shouted, unable to hold it in. He didn't want this rare find, this potential discovery, to be killed by Superman in just one punch.
After all, aside from Kong, the entire Monarch program had never made direct contact with any other Titan. They didn't know what kind of power or destructive force such a massive creature might hold.
Sure, there were many files and legends about these creatures, but legends are often exaggerated or distorted. Serizawa had always believed that with the right equipment, they could capture these monsters alive. So naturally, he didn't want Superman to just wipe it out before they even had the chance.
Even if they could study its corpse, who could say whether this monster was one of a kind? If Superman destroyed it just like that, it would be a huge loss.
But at this point, Clark couldn't hear Dr. Serizawa—nor would he care even if he did. After all, Clark didn't even know who Dr. Serizawa was.
And so, completely unaware of Serizawa's presence, Clark punched the monster directly in the head.
Boom!
Following that punch, the 50-meter-long monster's head slammed violently into the ground. Within a kilometer radius, the ground shook as if a major earthquake had struck.
"Whoa!"
Clark's punch had drawn blood—but surprisingly, the monster wasn't dead. It raised its head and let out a furious roar.
Seeing this, Clark was slightly surprised at the creature's durability. After all, that punch had been infused with light energy, solar energy, and the power of two Infinity Stones. The sheer force had been enough to obliterate a massive Chitauri beast before.
But the monster didn't care about Clark's shock. After roaring, it suddenly kicked off the ground and lunged at Clark with its near one-ton body.
Even if its full weight was two tons, the impact force would still only be a few tons. So while Clark was surprised it had survived his punch, when it came charging, he simply raised his right hand and blocked it.
Bang!
When the monster slammed into Clark's palm, the air around Clark visibly rippled from the shock. Yet his floating body didn't move an inch, like a towering pillar holding back a storm.
"RAAAGH!"
After colliding with Clark's hand, the monster's already damaged head suffered from the immense rebound force. It howled in agony.
Clark didn't waste any time. He grabbed the monster by the right arm and lifted it. Then, he flew up—not too high, only about a hundred meters—and swung the beast like a whip, slamming it hard into the ground below.
BOOM!
The resulting impact triggered an actual earthquake across Tokyo Bay. Near the impact zone, buildings crumbled like tofu under the shock.
The monster lay broken on the ground, bleeding heavily.
But what shocked Clark even more was that the monster still wasn't dead—even with such massive trauma. It had fallen unconscious, but inside its body, Clark could see a mysterious energy rapidly healing its wounds… and evolving it.
How did Clark know? He could literally see it happening. A new pair of arms began growing from its abdomen at a visible rate. Its head, originally lying flat and snake-like, began to straighten. Its body size was also increasing rapidly—from 50 meters long to over 100 meters, doubling in size.
Clark also sensed a kind of energy within the monster—somewhat similar to his own, like the energy of solar nuclear fusion. However, the intensity was lower. After thinking about it, Clark figured it was probably nuclear fission—a level below fusion.
This kind of evolution should have taken a long time, but whether due to Clark's threat or some other reason, the creature evolved at an astonishing speed. Within just a few minutes, it had completed the transformation… and reopened its eyes.
