Chapter 94 - Amulet (3).

"Hey, what's going on here!"

The man shouted.

Kane, startled, stopped and looked at the source of the voice. He had lost his temper and made the noise he wanted to avoid. Finally, he noticed a man emerging from the darkness.

The man's eyes widened at the sight before him: a corpse and a boy, covered in blood, looking at him with a murderous gaze.

"Aa…"

Before he could scream, Kane hurled his sword, piercing his head. And now there was a third corpse in this deserted alley.

"Worthless garbage."

Kane hissed.

Approaching and withdrawing the sword, taking one last look at the bearded man, he thought he was lucky it wasn't an adventurer.

He decided to speed up as much as possible. He needed to kill at least one more today. Even though he wasn't spending much time on them, the distances were taking their toll.

But he had thought this through as well. After all, he had studied them quite well and knew that the next target would be closest to their so-called base. So he always returned there so that his disappearance wouldn't be noticed immediately and they wouldn't decide to check.

He couldn't predict whether it would be one person or several. He had no definite answer. And the smallest chance that could happen was that they would just forget about him, but only for a while.

They would still have to check later, and of course they would go to the closest one.

With each second, he got closer and closer. And it wasn't long before he arrived at his destination. Then Kane quickly began to survey the area and listen for any sound, ignoring the noise of the busy street.

But he heard and saw nothing. After examining every corner of the alley, Kane realized:

"I'm late."

The understanding of this didn't cause Kane any anger or disappointment - absolutely nothing. He had the thought of going to the closest target, but he immediately dismissed the idea.

It was already dawn, and he was covered in blood, and the fact that they had made too much noise, which forced him to kill one extra person, made it clear that the corpses had already been found.

He needed to go home before the sun rose completely and quickly get rid of the evidence.

So he didn't wait any longer and a second later woke up at home, walking through the alleys completely naked. He decided that it was better for him to be seen naked, and even if rumors spread about him, it wouldn't matter - that was better than being accused of murder, he thought, going down to his house.

After taking a shower, he threw out all the broken furniture and burned it.

"Ha-ha, now I'm completely ready for her arrival."

Examining his slightly empty house, he suddenly said:

"Well, how do you like it?"

But in response, he heard only silence.

"Trash."

Ha-ha-ha.

Whoosh.

"How did that happen?" he thought, dodging the attack of an unfamiliar adventurer. Kane couldn't figure out who it was. His face was completely hidden by armor.

Bang.

But Kane didn't have time to think, he had to dodge again, seeing what had happened to the place where he had just been standing. He realized: no matter how hard he tried, he wouldn't win.

Kane understood from the beginning that he was stronger, so he decided to use rat tactics. But when there was a perfect moment to attack, Kane didn't even manage to move his hand, as he instantly flew into a wall in the dungeon. Then he realized that they were playing with him and could take his life at any second.

And most importantly, what Kane didn't understand was why? He didn't understand why he was attacking him. To rob him? That was unlikely. Or did he harbor a grudge? But then another question arises - what for?

"Or I'm just unlucky," Kane didn't rule out that possibility.

Ding.

Blocking the sword, Kane felt as if he had hit an unbreakable wall. Too big of a difference. But Kane was only amused by this. He was excited by every second of this battle.

An unbreakable wall - this was the best opponent to go all out against. Gathering all his strength into a fist, he rushed to meet this feeling.

Ding.

Bang.

Ding.

Ding.

Punch.

"Ha-ha."

Of course, as much as Kane liked this feeling, at the same time he felt annoyed that his opponent didn't value him at all. But the feeling of joy was too strong, so he didn't focus on it too much, but simply had fun.

Ding.

"Ah-ha-ha."

Parrying his attack miraculously, he wanted to immediately retreat back, because he realized that it was a trap.

Bang.

But before he could, a lightning-fast blow knocked Kane out. Kane didn't even have time to react, he didn't even have time to see the attack.

Opening his eyes, Kane immediately began to seize control of the body, which, of course, he successfully managed. Jumping up, he didn't understand where he was, but the noise of the crowd and the starry sky told him that he wasn't in the dungeon.

Following the noise of the crowd, he realized that he was in a park, in the bushes. Which caused him mixed feelings. But he knew one thing: he had been beaten up and thrown into the park. And he didn't understand why, but he wouldn't mind repeating it.

"If I'm going to die, then only in such a fight."

While Kane was walking through the park, illuminated by lanterns, he was in deep meditation. But even so, he saw what kind of looks passers-by were throwing. Looks full of disgust. But Kane didn't dwell on this until he noticed that he was completely naked.

"Did he, the bastard, even strip me?!" he shouted in his head.

He didn't care that people were giving him such looks, he didn't care what rumors would spread about him. He didn't think about it. He only worried about one thing: that he would have to buy equipment again. Again spend the money that he had been saving to spend on prostitutes.

Kane was a little saddened, but not so much, because upon returning home, that feeling evaporated as if it had never been there.

From my perspective

Several days later, Aiz had not returned, which played into my hands. All this time, I had been tracking down the remaining ones and killed two of them. And then they completely hid, hoping that I wouldn't find them. Damn, they were right, I never found them.

"Perverted crow, what will you order?"

I stared at Syr, who was holding back a smirk, looking back at me. I stared at her with all my might, trying to make a stone face.

"What should I eat today?" I thought, contemplating all the possible dishes I knew.

"Noodles."

"Noodles? Nothing else?"

"Okay. Wait a minute, perverted crow, ha-ha," she said, laughing as she walked away.

At first, I didn't pay attention to it, but when some children started to point fingers at me and say something like "pervert," I became interested in what was wrong.

And after a few hours of investigation, I learned that there were rumors about me that I was a pervert who walked naked in the streets. It was some kind of useless and pointless waste of time. But thanks to this, I heard other rumors that were circulating in Orario, and it was also related to me.

These rumors were about the fact that a maniac had appeared in Orario. So these rumors circulating about me are not so useless. I was already quite popular in Orario, and these rumors quickly spread throughout Orario, so there was a good chance that no one would find me in this investigation, if there was one, of course.

Only now I need to be more careful. If they suddenly reappear, I won't think for long, I'll catch them and kill them. But I just need to cover up the traces or just wait until Orario calms down and everyone forgets about it.

"Of course, I'll choose to wait."
