Lyra's POV
I pulled away, glaring at him. My lips throbbed of the feeling of his scent, his touch on mine. "I didn't ask for this."
"Kissing my mate or the fact that I saved your life?"
"Both." I clung to him, my expression remained stern. "Put me down on land, will ya?"
His lips curved into a wide smile. "I take that as your way of thanking me."
He landed us back on land and once I could finally touch the grassy field, Julian turned to glare at Nolan Bates who was shaking his boots at the sight of him.
"H-High Vampire…" His eyes widened. "It isn't what you think." He gave me an accusing glare. "It was her, this human! She threatened to kill me and stabbed me! In fact, she said she wanted to kill me just like Gregory Miller!"
Wow, he was just playing with my words at this point now that he acted like a puppy in front of Julian Czarnel.
