Chapter 7 - History of time

The first thing I noticed after stepping into the room was the high amount of gold present in the room. Almost every nook and cranny had gold furniture. Even the walls were adorned with gold ornaments.

The extravagance of it all was too dazzling.

There were two two-sitter armchairs with golden frames placed opposite each other and two single-sitter armchairs at each end with a glass table that had a golden vase, in the middle.

It could be seen that the owner of this room was a big admirer of the color gold.

However, that was not what piqued my curiosity;the seats were occupied by a total of five people. An older looking couple say on one of the two-sitters, atwo young men sat on either one of the single-sitter while the last two-sitters were occupied by a young lady. They all seemed to be in a serious conversation—if the frown on the older man's face was any indication.

Kailan moved towards the young lady currently occupying the two-sitters and flopped on the space next to her feet.

The young lady reached out a hand and rubbed kailan's head but kept her eyes trained on the others.

The young lady had delicate features with purple hair, doe eyes, a button nose and pink pouty lips. She looked alluring sitting there while drinking her tea elegantly.

The guard quietly excused himself after successfully delivering Kailan and hurried away rather quickly, probably noticing the tension that was so thick it could be sliced with a knife.

I moved closer to listen to their conversation, emboldened by the fact that I could not be seen.

"We need to do something, we cannot allow the enemy troops to get ahold of the northern feif. If it is war they want, then it is war they shall get" the older man said with so much vitriol, for a moment it looked as though he planned on rushing out the room to do just as he said.

"Calm down father. You getting worked up would not help the situation. We need to keep our minds clear and think of a solution" the young lady, as composed as ever, pointed out sparing each person in the room a glance.

When her gaze passed my side, it paused for a minute. We made eye contact then she narrowed her eyes at me.

I held my breath, hoping she couldn't see me.

'I thought non of them could see me' I distressed.

I stared at her eyes, just realizing how strange it was. The clear orbs, an unnatural shade of blue, had two black dots in them. It was covered by her long and thick eyelashes that fluttered whenever she blinked.

' can she see me?' I wondered.

The corner of her lips quirk up in a faint smirk as of she could hear what I was thinking.

If she really could see me, she made no indication whatsoever because the next second her eyes moved away from me without another glance at my direction to continue imputing into the conversation.

"The kingdom of Telari must have planned to take over Alvira to have access to the stoon of the goddess" the young man sitting on one of the single-sitter to the right of the lady has silver white hair just like the older man with matching blue eyes.

"First prince Nathaniel is right " the other young mad with brown hair and blue eyes took a sip of his tea before he continued, "the kingdom of Telari are known for their specialization in magic induced weapons, and with Alvira being the most blessed kingdom with abundant magic, it is the only explanation that Telari wants to have access to the stone of the goddess and make more powerful weapons with the magic."

"Linali" the older man, the king, called.

"Yes father" the purple haired lady answered.

"Have you seen anything lately?"

"I have. There were black mages, a portal, blinding light, betrayal" she stared into space, her gaze unfocused.

"What does that mean?"

"I am not quite sure father, but i do feel like something big is about to happen which may either be good or bad. But i rather have an ominous feeling" her words sounded foreboding, coupled with the grim expression on her face, it naturally brought an uneasy atmosphere to settle.

Everyone had dark expressions which was accompanied by a tense silence.
