Chapter 35 - Maybe, I found a New Friend

'No, I am not her G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D. I am just some friend of his but not close too. I don't know from where these stupid rumors are spreading, but please tell him or her to stop spreading them without knowing everything. It is annoying to go around telling everyone the same thing again and again!

'Hey! Who do you think you are?'

'Suckers!' said Emma.

'You!' and they continued to grit with rage and wrinkle their eyebrows.

After finally being able to get a seat, Sir came, and thus the class started.

The class ended. Today, we have meteorology and air navigation class. Tomorrow, our trainings will start too with exercises.

(In my mind) 'However, I didn't notice Bhaskar today though. Yesterday, we met at the park. He looked quite upset and tired. I hope he is okay. Wait! Who the hell is he? He looks like he's waiting for someone. He looks familiar.'

I moved closer to the gate.

(To myself) 'Rahul! Bastard!'

I just walked past, ignoring him. I hope he too didn't notice.

'Rin—' said Rahul and hesitated.

'Rina! Are you coming tomorrow?' asked Emma while running towards me.

'Of course! Tomorrow, our training will start. I am so excited for tomorrow.'

'You sound like you were waiting for that day.'

'Of course. I really want to be a pilot. As each day passes, it feels like I am closer to my goal.'

'Can I ask you something?' asked Emma.

'What?'

'Why do you want to be a pilot?'

I stopped. I felt like something was stuck in my throat as I was going to answer. Goosebumps ran through my skin. But I was not able to bring myself to tell it.

'It's okay if you don't want to tell me. I am sorry; maybe it's a sensitive question, I asked. I am extremely sorry.'

'No. It's okay. It's just that many things happened in my life, but now it feels like nothing happened at all. Everything feels like a dream. I never ever imagined I would be able to attend this college. So, many things changed.'

As I was telling this to Emma, tears ran down my eyes. As all my tensions and stress got relaxed in a minute.

'It's okay! Everything is okay. Cry more if you want. Maybe, you will feel better.'

Together we went to a nearby cafe to get some fresh air and relax at the same time.

A long silence passes along.

'Can I trust you?' I asked Emma, breaking the silence.

'Huh! Hmm. Why not?'

'No. It's just—remember you once told me that you have a friend whose name is Parbati who used to study at our school.'

'Yeah. Wait! Did she do anything to you?'

'She used to bully me and even tried to blame me for the things I didn't do. When I heard that you are her friend, I was judging you in every way possible. I never trusted you, and now too, even though I asked you, I still can't trust you fully. What if! You are like her. I am sorry if I offended you somehow. But, that's how I felt. I am very sorry.'

'No, it's okay. I never thought he would become someone like that. She was actually an orphan when we first met. But, later, I heard some rich family adopted her at the age of 10. I have not been in contact with her since then. Looks like he really changed a lot.'

We talked about many things for a while, laughed at each other, and became good friends at the end through coffee.
