The screech of metal echoed through the room as Kai slowly turned it and pushed the door open.
Inside, Vorenhart awaited, seated at a table, body relaxed. Yuki stood to the side, in her delicate pink skirt, which looked almost out of place in the serious atmosphere.
"Well…" Vorenhart began, with a creepy, confident smile. "Can I have my diary…?" he asked immediately.
Kai lifted his head and looked down at him. "And what do you plan to do with the diary?" Kai asked, mimicking his smile.
"Just give it to me…" Vorenhart said. His voice was completely calm and emotionless.
Kai's gaze locked onto Vorenhart's, a storm of unspoken threats and suppressed fury crackling between them.
"And what are you doing here?" Mei's voice was sharp, eyes locked on Yuki.
"I don't have to justify myself to you…" Yuki's tone was ice-cold.
Voren's hand shot out toward Kai, demanding the diary with a quiet menace.
