Hearing Aster's words, Kael's heart skipped a beat and clenched tight. He held his breath as he continued to listen from a distance.
Eryn's eyes narrowed. In a cold, deadly voice, he asked, "And who were they built for?"
Aster scoffed. "Who else? Even if I told you, you wouldn't know! He was someone who's long been dead. A pitiful person who would die for a tyrant king! And what did he get in return? Death! A miserable, forgotten death that no one even remembers! No tomb, no prayers, not a single soul to mourn him."
He laughed bitterly.
"So, what did I do? I simply built those shrines as his tombs! If anyone should be crying, it should be him! Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Those tombs have taken plenty of lives. And even now, he's feeding me! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
