Chapter 3 - See the fae

Nyra found herself gazing into aeris's deep blue eyes, as she was under him she could feel his piercing gaze on her.

She didn't even let him do anything more, she pushed him off her as she winced.

"Fuck!" Aeris slowly stood up from the floor as he dusted his body, he slowly turned his gaze towards her, he saw her writing in pain as she grabbed her arm.

Nyra felt as if her hand would probably split open and she didn't want that to happen, she kept her eyes close but she could feel the movements around her.

Aeris grabbed her hand, pouring a disinfectant made from herbs and water from the healing river, he slowly poured it allowing it seep into the wound.

Nyra felt the wound turn cold as Aeris helped her treat it. After a while, she heard the dungeon's door close and open and she realized she was alone once more.

She sighed, she didn't have the strength to stand up from the floor so she just remained there racking her brain on what to do.

She couldn't call for reinforcement even though she knew a spell that could do that, but they had just few faeries on their side while the other have gone rogue.

Rogue in the sense that they would do anything to kill the queen and take over the throne. Nyra laughed at her kinds foolishness, even if they took the throne from her mother, what is there to rule?

Aeris walked down the hall as he thought of how to deal with Nyra. He didn't want to kill her but he didn't want to die too.

He got back to his room, running his fingers through his hair, he stared at himself in the mirror, his eyes going to the woman who was standing behind him.

"Maisie, what are you doing here?" Aeris asked as the woman with black long hair and deep green eyes, chuckled softly.

"I heard you brought a fae back, is she the one destined to kill you?" Maisie, Aeris bethroted and the one he was supposed to marry soon asked, taking slow steps towards him.

"I told you not to come into my room when I'm out. What do you think people would say?" Aeris said, his voice cold and displeased but Maisie didn't seem to mind.

She soon stood behind him as she leaned down, resting her face on his shoulder.

"Let them say what they have to say, why do care about that?" Maisie turned her head, giving Aeris a quick kiss on the cheek before standing straight.

Aeris pushed his seat back, standing up.

"This would be the first and last time you would walk into my room and behave in such manner. Forget the fact that we're meant to get married, I would kill you in a twinkle of an eye if you don't respect yourself" Aeris said, he was getting fed up with her obnoxious behavior and his thirst for blood was getting too much.

Maisie groaned, her once bright smile turning into a frown. She lifted her dress before walking out of his room.

Aeris had always been in the mood to touch her even if it was a kiss but now he seemed so uninterested.

She needed to see that fae for herself, instead of heading to her room, she turned around heading to the underground dungeons. The guards there immediately bowed as they saw her.

"What can we do for you, Lady Maisie?" One of the guards asked as Maisie glanced at the dungeon's door.

"I need to see the fae that's kept in there, can you open the door for me?" Maisie asked, her voice calm and sweet as she spoke to the guards.

"Ma'am, I'm not sure the king would be happy with that" he replied her and Maisie felt her smile drop, she turned to look at the second guard, who just winked at her.

"Hey, let's allow her through. After all, she is the King's bethroted and if we respect her, we're also respecting him" The guard said, trying to convince the other guard to allow Maisie in and after much thinking, he sighed.

"Please make it quick" He muttered as he unlocked the door. Maisie smiled at him before walking into the dungeon, she soon noticed a silver head girl that was spread out on the floor, her purple and blue eyes staring up at the ceiling.

Just from how helpless and weak she looked, Maisie saw she wasn't an ordinary person.

"Who are you and why are you staring at me in such manner?" Nyra suddenly stood up as shs bulled out a small dagger from her pocket, she had ripped it off Aeris earlier.

"You're the fae who is sent to kill my bethroted?" Maisie used that word to remind Nyra that Aeris was hers and she didn't stand a chance, Nyra saw through her words and just chuckled softly.

"Maybe I was sent, maybe I wasn't. Did he send you here to ridicule me?" Nyra asked, she knew that Aeris would do anything to make her feel bad but why did it seem like everyone in this place had some kind of grudge against her.

"Yes he did and I gladly accepted. He said you're just some poor fae princess who was sent here to kill him but at last you got caught" Maisie took a step towards Nyra expecting her to move back in fear but Nyra did no such thing. "With the way you're dressed, I bet you can do anything just to get your freedom?"

Maisie stared at Nyra keeping eye contact but Nyra just chuckled as she took a step forward, she was few inches away from Maisie.

"Say, what do you mean by that?" Nyra asked but Maisie just frowned as she looked at the small window that was right above them.

"I mean you're just a slut, like your mother and every other fae that got killed in that war" Maisie said but immediately regretted it. Nyra wrapped her hand around her throat, lifting her off the ground in a split second.
