POV: Dr. Chen
I slammed my fist on Dr. Reynolds' desk so hard that his coffee cup jumped.
"You're killing them!" I shouted. "All of them!"
"Dr. Chen, please calm down," he said, not looking up from his computer screen. "The children are responding well to treatment."
"Treatment? You call draining their life force treatment?"
I grabbed his tablet and showed him Hunter's latest blood work. The numbers were terrifying.
"Look at these results! His supernatural energy levels have dropped eighty percent in two weeks!"
"That's within acceptable parameters."
"Acceptable for what? Murder?"
Finally, Dr. Reynolds looked at me. "Dr. Chen, you're being dramatic. The children are simply experiencing temporary energy depletion."
"Temporary? Hunter can barely walk! Hope hasn't spoken in three days! And now you've moved Hunter to Advanced Research without telling his parents!"
"That's classified information."
"Classified child abuse, you mean."
