Chapter 92 - Tangled feelings

Being in this place alone with Emma was messing with my head. Every second in this suffocating little hut was like being trapped inside my own thoughts and she was at the center of all of them.

Our conversation earlier hadn't helped. It had cracked open doors I had bolted shut years ago, forcing me to wonder… what if things had been different? What if there hadn't been betrayal, lies, and blood between us? What if we had been allowed to be who we once were to each other?

"Is that so bad or are you scared of being seen as weak because of love?" Eden, my wolf, whined softly.

I shoved the thought away, forcing myself to focus on something practical: how to put distance between us right now. But as badly as I wanted to leave for Silver Creek, my body had other ideas. My shoulder still burned with healing pain, and I wasn't strong enough to make the journey yet… especially not with Emma, who was still in fragile condition.
