The reason Califla was carrying Tong Mo's severed head by the hair was simple—he was drenched in blood. Touching any other part of him would've just been disgusting.
After stomping on his head a few more times to vent the last of her rage, Califla finally felt satisfied. Her anger was mostly spent, and now it was time to finish things for good.
"You... what are you planning to do?!"
Tong Mo's voice trembled with fear as he looked at Califla. For some inexplicable reason, an overwhelming sense of dread filled his chest. The girl in front of him—who looked no older than a high schooler—made him feel something he hadn't experienced in decades.
Fear.
True, undeniable fear.
Califla grinned, her voice icy cold. "Do? I don't want to do anything. I just want to give you a one-way ticket to the afterlife."
With a flick of her wrist, she tossed Tong Mo high into the air as if he weighed nothing. Then, extending her hand, she focused a burst of energy into her palm. A glowing ball of condensed power spun into existence, buzzing with raw destructive force.
Without hesitation, she hurled it at Tong Mo.
BOOM!!!
A violent explosion rocked the mountains and echoed across the darkened countryside. A pillar of flame shot into the sky, illuminating the surrounding villages, forests, and mountain ridges like it was high noon.
Tong Mo's figure was completely swallowed by the explosion. There wasn't even time for him to scream.
His final thought, as the blast engulfed him, was absurdly poetic:
"So there really are women this beautiful in the world…"
And then—nothing.
The light from the explosion flickered out, fading back into the starry night. Where Tong Mo once floated, there was now only a faint trail of smoke. Not even ashes remained.
Gone.
Completely obliterated.
With Califla's terrifying level of power, leaving behind even a molecule of her enemy would've been merciful. But Tong Mo had pushed her limits—and paid the ultimate price.
Butterfly Chanahui, who had been lying nearby in a weakened state, was left stunned.
That energy… that effortless display of strength… what was that ability?
A glowing ball of energy thrown casually had caused a blast so powerful it could wipe out an entire town. If Califla had aimed that at a populated area, it would have meant total destruction.
The ancient wisdom of the East rang true in her mind—"Never judge a book by its cover."
She would've never believed it if she hadn't seen it with her own eyes. The girl in front of her looked no older than herself and spoke like a cocky teenager, yet she wielded power on a godlike scale.
This girl had just turned a high-ranking demon—the infamous Upper Rank Two—into vapor.
"Mission complete. Employer, I've fulfilled my task," Califla said, approaching Chanahui with a cheeky smile. "Remember to give me a five-star rating, alright?"
But as soon as she got closer, her expression shifted.
Something wasn't right.
Butterfly Chanahui was lying on the ground, barely conscious. Her body was pale, her breathing shallow, and her grip on her sun blade had loosened completely.
"You… are you okay?!"
Califla, who had faced down death and destruction without blinking, was suddenly panicked. Her confident demeanor cracked.
Butterfly Chanahui gave her a weak smile. "My injuries are too severe... I don't have much time left. But thank you… for helping me kill Upper Two."
Her voice was faint, like a candle flickering in the wind.
She had endured this long only through sheer willpower. She had forced herself to stay conscious, to witness Tong Mo's death with her own eyes. That was all she had wanted.
And now that it was done… she had nothing left.
Her body collapsed like a marionette with cut strings.
"No! No, no, no—you're not dying on me now!" Califla yelled. "You guys have hospitals or healing places around here, right? I'll take you there right now!"
Chanahui shook her head slowly. "It's useless… my wounds are too deep… even if you took me now, it wouldn't help. Just promise me one thing."
Her voice trembled as she gathered the last of her strength.
"Please… take my body back to my sister. Tell her to leave the Demon Slayer Corps. Tell her to live a peaceful life as a normal woman. That's all I ask."
Her eyes fluttered shut.
She was slipping away.
Suddenly, a message popped into Califla's mind, projected through the group chat of the "Thug Squad."
Krillin: "@Califla, what are you doing?! Don't forget how I saved Ace! Use a fairy bean!"
Beek: "@Krillin, she wasn't in the squad when that happened. She doesn't know."
Krillin: "Doesn't matter! Just use a fairy bean to save her!"
Caulifla blinked, stunned.
"Fairy bean…?"
She quickly responded:
Caulifla: "@Krillin, are you saying that these fairy beans can really save someone like her?"
Goku: "@Caulifla, totally! As long as the person isn't dead, one bean will heal every injury instantly. Like everything!"
Caulifla: "That's insane! But… I don't have enough points. I can't buy any fairy beans from the shop."
Just as she finished typing, another notification popped up.
Beerus: "@Caulifla, I've sent you one fairy bean. Accept the delivery."
Xiangpa: "@Beerus, since when are you so generous?"
Beerus: "Don't misunderstand. I'm not doing this out of kindness. When she gets her mission points, she can pay me back for the bean."
Beerus added coolly:
Beerus: "Also, I don't want Califla's client to die. If that happens, she might not get her five-star review, which hurts our overall reputation. Bad for business."
Though Beerus didn't care much for Universe 6 or for Califla personally, he understood the stakes. If Califla failed to get her rating, the squad would take a hit. That was unacceptable.
The bean wasn't expensive anyway. If it could prevent a bigger loss, then it was worth it.
Several other squad members had also rushed to purchase fairy beans for Califla, but Beerus had beaten them all to it.
Caulifla: "@Beerus… thank you."
She accepted the delivery.
A small, vibrant green bean appeared in her hand. It looked utterly ordinary—just like any other bean she'd seen. But there was something strangely powerful about it.
Could this really heal someone on the brink of death?
She hadn't seen Krillin save Ace. She wasn't part of the squad back then. But she didn't doubt them.
Even the God of Destruction had given her one—there was no way it was fake.
She turned toward Butterfly Chanahui, who now barely clung to life. Her breath was shallow, her skin pale, her spirit nearly gone.
"You haven't rated me yet," Califla said with a half-grin, her voice softening. "I'm not letting you die before you give me that five-star review."
Chanahui's eyes fluttered open for a moment. She didn't fully understand what Califla was saying, but the tone of her voice carried warmth. If she could, she would've smiled.
"You don't have to say anything," Califla whispered, kneeling beside her. "Just eat this bean."
With gentle hands, she raised the fairy bean to Chanahui's lips.
