Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

It was the weekend and I had nothing to do at the moment. I put on a shawl prepared by my beloved maid, Lucy, and went to the balcony of my room.

The weather was nice, and so was my mood.

Cool wind swept on my face, making my hair flow in the air. I relaxed and closed my eyes to feel the coolness of the weather.

Suddenly, I sensed as if someone was looking at me. When I opened my eyes and looked down from the balcony, a man came into sight. His black hair also swept in the air and exposed his forest green eyes and forehead. However I look at him, Keiran does look handsome. But his handsomeness does not allow him to stare at girls' faces whenever he likes.

I turned my head to the other side to avoid his gaze. Just because he's making me uncomfortable doesn't mean I would always leave my peace for him.

I don't know how long he stood there, staring up at me. I was just annoyed that my peaceful time got disturbed by Lionel, who seemed to be calling me for something.

I changed my clothes and wore a pair of loose black pants and a loose black t-shirt.

With my shoes on, I descended the stairs, exited the mansion and reached the practice room at the back of the house.

There I was greeted by Lionel and someone I didn't expect. Keiran.

He stood there wearing grey pants and a white shirt. When I entered the practice room, he gave me a brief glance and then looked down to continue fiddling with the gun he was given. Behind him, at a corner, was Mira standing alone and looking at me with narrowed eyes.

"Miss Elira, Master instructed that you teach them the special technique that he taught you years ago. The one with your knife and gun together?"

I frowned, "Why? Don't they have their own teachers?"

"Well, Master said that technique was only perfectly mastered by you, who had learned directly from him. So..."

I grumbled a bit and gave Lionel a nod. Who am I to refuse?

With my answer, Lionel smiled broadly

"Then I'll leave you three alone!"

I sighed and walked forward to grab a knife.

"You know how to use this?" I threw the knife to Keiran since he was the first one I had to teach. Next would be Mira.

Keiran grabbed the knife thrown towards him by the handle and lowered it while saying, "Is there something else I have to learn?"

His voice suits his face.

I took my own knife, rolled and swung it in my hand and positioned its sharp point in the front. "Plenty."

I instructed him to apply all his teachings to fight me. And if I get defeated, I will make his one wish true. "But if I were to give you even a small scratch, you'll lose."

At first, he seemed to be casual and calmly stepped towards him. I even started to wonder how it would feel to fight the main character of this world since he could be quite powerful for holding such a position in the novel.

He lunged forward and attacked me with a quick blow of the knife. I immediately dodged it and decided not to take this male lead as an easy target.

He looked strong.

I somersaulted to the side and gave him a kick to his waist. He stumbled and grunted while holding his waist.

A soft scream came from behind, "Keiran!"

Oh, the female lead is worried about her male lead. But are they already in love? Didn't they start to develop feelings in the middle of the novel, that still had some time to arrive though?

Keiran once again stood on his stance and looked at me with a knife held tight in his hand.

This time, I decided to attack first. I ran towards him at high speed. Then, right before reaching him, I put a leg on the wall at our side and pushed myself on him.

A kick flew to his face but he dodged that as well, not bad.

As soon as I stood up, he swept his leg at my legs, and as I jumped up to avoid it, I stumbled.

Looking at his face, he seemed to think that I was falling and was losing, but when a knife flew right near his face and gave a slight cut on his cheek. As the blood dripped down his bruised cheek, the outcome of the match came.

I smiled, for the first time after meeting them. "You lost."

I finished fighting with Mira and surprisingly, she was worse than Keiran.

I expected something different from the main characters but it seems like my expectations were too high. Plus, they were still at the beginning of the novel. They had a long time ahead of them.

As I fought with Mira to figure out her total strength, I noticed that she was quite wary of me.

Why?

And Keiran, he had always looked at me as if he had something in mind. But when he was standing behind, as Mira and I fought, his eyes looked even sharper and...something as he looked at me.

I don't know, I just... He's suspicious.
