Chapter 114 - A Monster's Familiar Face

The beast lunged for me, all fangs and claws. I had just enough time to push Amelia's limp body away before those massive jaws snapped where her head had been moments ago.

"Vincent," I hissed, the name bitter on my tongue.

I barely recognized him in this form. His body had morphed into something monstrous—far larger and more bestial than any werewolf I'd ever seen, standing nearly eight feet tall even hunched over. His fur was matted with blood, his eyes burning with an unholy rage.

He'd never shown me this form during our marriage. Never revealed this power.

Another lie among countless others.

"You should've stayed dead," he snarled, his voice a guttural rumble.

I said nothing, summoning what remained of my strength. My wings hardened like obsidian armor around me, the sharp edges gleaming in the dim light. The stinger at the base of my spine pulsed with venom, ready to strike.
