Chapter 113 - A King's Blind Fury

I tore through the forest, every muscle in my body straining as I tracked the vampire coven. We'd been hunting them since dawn, but they kept slipping through our fingers like shadows, leaving nothing but the stench of death and dark magic in their wake.

"There's nothing here," Ronan called out, shifting back into his human form beside me. "The trail's gone cold."

I growled in frustration, rage bubbling beneath my skin. The vampires had been growing bolder, encroaching further into Lycan territory. I'd lost three pack members in the past month alone.

"We keep searching," I snarled, scanning the dense trees around us.

"Landon," Regina approached cautiously, blood splattered across her face from an earlier skirmish. "It's nearly sunset. We should regroup and try again tomorrow."

She was right, but I couldn't shake the feeling of unease crawling up my spine. Something was wrong. My wolf, Kaelen, paced restlessly within me, his agitation feeding my own.
