"Why is there blood in his mouth if it's just sedative?!" My voice rips through the air before I even realise it. "What did you put in that arrow? Why would you even do it!"
My hands won't stop shaking. My omega feels crushed, small and powerless. He's barely conscious, his body limp against the floor, blood glistening at the corner of his mouth. The sight makes dread pool deep in my stomach.
The guards stand firm, blank-faced. "He was attacking Omega Arieth, didn't you see?" one of them answers. "We did what we were expected to do—save a high omega's life."
Anger ignites under my skin. "Then what am I here for?" My voice cracks, but I don't care. "Last time when he attacked Luna's son, where were you? It was me who tamed the alpha! Not you!"
