Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

Meanwhile, "huff... huff," Elsa looked breathless. She sat on the edge of her bed, wiping sweat with her towel.

"Walking is so hard," she muttered, looking at her two legs.

She stood up again and tried to step, but her feet immediately stumbled, "thud," and she fell forward. Elsa's face showed pain from the fall.

"Ouch... it hurts. Come on, fight, Elsa, to be able to walk,"

She crawled to her wheelchair and climbed onto it until she was seated. Then she tried to stand again. "Tap," she managed to take a step, but when her other foot lifted, "slip," she fell backward again and landed on her back. Without giving up, Elsa kept trying to stand and walk step by step without holding on.

Suddenly, "knock... knock," she heard a knock on her unit door. Elsa turned and got up. Unconsciously, she walked to the door using her legs. She opened the door and saw a man with a name tag that read "building management" standing behind the door.

"Excuse me, ma'am, I just received a complaint from the unit below you. They said they heard falling sounds and noise from upstairs. Perhaps your exercises could be done without noise, ma'am, as it's disturbing the neighbors," the man said, seeing Elsa sweating and wearing activewear with a towel around her neck.

"Oh... I'm sorry, sir. I'll stop now," Elsa replied.

"Alright, apologies and thank you, ma'am. Good afternoon," the man said.

"You're welcome, sir," Elsa replied.

Elsa closed the door, and unconsciously, she walked into the living room. Suddenly, she looked at her legs, and her face immediately brightened.

"Yes, I can walk!"

"Thud!" Elsa immediately stumbled and fell again when she realized she could walk using her legs. "Ugh," Elsa tried to get up and sat on the floor of her living room.

"Hehe, I'm not allowed to realize it, it's hard, isn't it, hehe," Elsa said, rubbing her aching forehead.

Since she had been reprimanded, Elsa finally took off her watch. She crawled to the sofa and placed her watch on the table. She sat lost in thought, looking at the watch in front of her. Her heart still wanted to learn because she wanted to be able to walk quickly.

"Maybe I should go to the swimming pool, but then it'll be obvious, right? I'd arrive in a wheelchair, and then legs would appear in the water, like a mermaid, hehe," Elsa thought to herself.

Elsa picked up her watch. She held it and leaned back on the sofa. She turned on her television and watched. Her eyes kept staring at her watch, and she smiled.

"Ever since the heart transplant operation and Auntie Irene has been inside me, many things have happened, and they've been enjoyable. Even though Grandma died in front of me, I almost gave up and wanted to follow them. Luckily, I met Lia in the park. Speaking of which, how is that child doing?" Elsa wondered to herself.

Her thoughts began to drift. She rested her head on the sofa and looked at the ceiling. She remembered Dr. Kelvin's words at the hospital, Auntie Irene in her dream, and the principal when she asked for a transfer letter, who had placed hope in her. Elsa smiled, her hand rising towards the ceiling, and she spread her fingers.

"I hope I make a lot of friends in high school and meet my soulmate, hehe. Two more days, right? Can I learn to walk in two days so I can go to school on foot? But no, my junior high friends will be there too, they'll be confused if I suddenly grow legs, hehe," Elsa thought to herself.

Elsa sat up straight again. She took her watch and put it on. Then, after her legs appeared, she lifted her legs onto the sofa and hugged them.

"Thank you, Auntie Irene. You gave me legs and a heart. I'm so happy. I'll definitely find Uncle for you, but where is he? Maybe next door? If I think about it, it's strange. My bed can rotate to the next unit, and there's another identical hidden room, although mine is more of a wardrobe with lots of cosplay clothes, hehe," Elsa said, hugging her cold legs.

Her thoughts began to wander, remembering when she entered the unit next door. She remembered the positions of the bed, table, dressing table, and closet. She looked at her watch, and suddenly something occurred to her.

"Next door... there's also a watch, right, a men's watch. And I found an album there too. Could it be that Auntie's husband is also gone? Because he wouldn't leave such a valuable watch behind if he were still alive, right? And his heart was also donated, they said. Could the person living next door be the recipient?" Elsa wondered to herself.

Without further delay, Elsa picked up her smartphone from the table, and her fingers immediately danced, sending a message to Kelvin. She asked if anyone else had received a miraculous heart donation like hers. Elsa calmly waited for an answer without expecting anything, but "dling," a message came in, and Elsa immediately opened it. Kelvin's answer was just three words: "Yes, there is. Why?" Elsa immediately called Kelvin.

"Hello, Elsa?" Kelvin asked.

"Really, Doctor? Someone else received a donation like me?" Elsa asked.

"Hmm, yes, why?" Kelvin asked.

"A donation from a miraculous donor just like me?" Elsa asked again.

"Yes, in fact, he's even more miraculous. His heart should have died, but when we forced the operation, somehow the heart came back to life, and the operation was successful. Why, I wonder? He also asked me the same thing just now," Kelvin replied.

"Huh, what did he ask?" Elsa asked.

"He asked if the person who received a donation like his, lives next door to him," Kelvin replied.

"Then what did you say, Doctor?" Elsa asked.

"Well, I said yes, because it's true. You both received apartments from the dono... ah," Kelvin blurted out.

"It's okay, Doctor, I've known for a long time that you lied about all this coming from Grandma. Just be straightforward," Elsa retorted.

"Oh, you already know, haha. Sorry, I didn't mean to lie to you, because at that time you were experiencing consecutive grief, and it felt strange to tell you that you received good fortune from your donor, as if I were saying that because everyone around you died, you got lucky," Kelvin said.

"Yes, I understand what you mean, Doctor. It's okay. But is the person next door really the recipient?" Elsa asked.

"Yes, that's right. He also received a gift just like you, that's why he lives next to you, right? Have you met him yet?" Kelvin asked.

"Not yet, I wanted to confirm first, Doctor. When was his operation, Doctor?" Elsa asked.

"Hmm, about 6 months ago, he's also like you. Two months before his operation, his father, mother, and younger sibling died in a plane crash," Kelvin said.

"Oh, really? He's also alone?" Elsa asked.

"Yes, he's alone and has nothing if he didn't get lucky," Kelvin replied.

"Okay, Doctor, then, thank you," Elsa replied.

"Yes, you're welcome," Kelvin replied.

Elsa hung up her phone. Her heart became joyful and relieved. She put down her smartphone, then took off her watch.

"So my suspicion was right. Auntie's husband is also gone, and the person who received his heart donation is next door," Elsa murmured.

She got into her wheelchair and went into the bathroom to shower. In the bathroom, as she was soaking after rinsing her body,

"Okay, after this, I'll go next door, greet the neighbor, and introduce myself (thinking). Uh... he's a guy, right? What if I tell him 'my heart is your heart wife...oh ex wife perhaps'? What if he ends up having a crush on me? It's better if he does, but what if he doesn't and thinks I'm weird? Or should I just say this: 'Hi, I have a message from your heart's wife' (remembering the message)? How can I say 'I'm sorry my womb had problems so I couldn't have children until I neglected him for 3 years and didn't want a divorce'... Hmph... why is it even harder now that I've found him?" Elsa wondered to herself, her face beginning to flush.
