Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Once she calmed down, Elsa touched her legs again. It felt like touching bouncy, springy gel. She also couldn't feel anything in her two new legs.

"Hmm... I don't feel anything, huh? Let's try moving them," Elsa said.

Elsa's ankles began to move, and her toes wiggled. Then she tried moving her legs up and down and bending them.

"I can move them, but I can't feel anything in these legs. Now... let's try walking," Elsa said.

Holding on, Elsa stood up, but "thud," she immediately fell again when she tried to stand on both feet. Not giving up, Elsa tried again and fell again. Finally, she crawled out of the room, then climbed onto her bed. She sat on the edge with her feet hanging down. She tried to stand, holding onto her wheelchair. Elsa managed to stand, but when she swung her legs, she fell backward right onto the bed.

"Okay, I have to learn to walk, hehehe... Come on, Elsa, you finally have legs! But... I should shower first, I'm sweating," Elsa said.

She got up and took off her watch. As soon as the watch came off, both of her legs turned back into liquid and went into the watch. Elsa was shocked and surprised, mixed with a slight feeling of disappointment. She looked at her watch, then tried wearing it again. The liquid reappeared, and her legs formed again as before.

"Oh... so I can only have legs if I wear this watch... I guess so, huh? There's no permanent one, hehe... A little disappointed, but it's okay. Still grateful, right, Grandma?" Elsa thought to herself.

After moving to her wheelchair, Elsa wheeled herself out of the room and into the bathroom.

Meanwhile, next door, Adrian sat in the secret room, staring at the row of weapons hanging on the wall. He stood up and took an M16 hunting rifle. "Clang," the rifle fell because it was too heavy for him. With difficulty, he put it back on the wall.

"Insanely heavy," Adrian muttered.

He turned to look at the glass box containing the watch, then approached it. He picked up his watch again and put it on, then he sat down, staring at the watch on his wrist.

"What are all these buttons for?" Adrian wondered.

He pressed the top button, but nothing happened. Then he pressed the button below it, and the result was the same.

"There's no manual or tutorial, is there?" Adrian said, examining his watch again.

Finally, he pressed the bottom-most button on the right. "Whoosh," many lasers shot out from the watch, forming a holographic screen floating above the watch.

"Wow, cool," Adrian said.

He read the content. It was all written in English, as Adrian wished, and it was a tutorial on how to use the watch. He read it seriously, his finger moving to scroll the holographic screen up or down, just like using a smartphone. After almost two hours of reading, Adrian stood up and turned off the tutorial.

He pressed the top and second buttons on the right simultaneously. A laser came out, scanning Adrian's entire body.

"Body check completed, repair body mass."

A thick, dark black, slime-like liquid emerged from under the watch, covering Adrian's entire body. He wasn't surprised because he had already read the tutorial up to the neck section. Suddenly, all the liquid hardened and formed synthetic muscles, giving Adrian a slightly larger, muscular, and seemingly strong body, all in a deep black color. The color slowly changed back to Adrian's original skin tone.

"Wow, awesome," Adrian said, looking at his now muscular arms.

He exited the secret room and looked at himself in the dressing table mirror. He saw his body had become muscular and started posing like a bodybuilder, but when he looked at the lower part of his body,

"Oh, it's gone... Wow, it's gone... Oh right, it's just clothes, hahaha... You scared me there. Let's see, maybe now I'm strong enough to lift that rifle," Adrian said.

Adrian went back in and picked up the hunting rifle hanging on the wall. He easily lifted it, even tossing it around and catching it like a toy. After he put the rifle back, he picked up a large, long ancient European sword. He swung it with ease.

"Haha, I'm a superhero now, so cool! Uncle Jimmy is awesome," Adrian exclaimed.

But even so, he knew it was all just a costume, so if the watch was removed, his body would return to its original state, which was thin, albeit a little muscular. After that, he tried other functions like firing lasers, emitting gas, shooting a grappling hook, and changing the shape of his clothes as he wished.

Done playing around, Adrian took off his watch and put it back in the box. He came out of the secret room and closed it again. As he exited the bedroom, "thump," a loud noise came from next door, and not just once.

"What's the neighbor doing?" Adrian wondered to himself.

He walked to the sofa and sat down calmly, watching television, but he did glance at the door.

"It's clear someone has been in here before. If the next-door neighbor came in the way I did, it's not a problem, but it would be scary if it were someone else. School starts in two days, so that means I'll be home for these two days and won't go anywhere," Adrian thought.

"Thump!" Adrian immediately turned to the wall because it seemed his neighbor had fallen and hit the wall. Adrian recalled the tutorial he had just read and tried to ignore the continuously noisy neighbor.

"Hmm, what does 'opening portal to another world' mean? That's the only thing I haven't tried because the watches have to be a pair, but that watch belongs to my neighbor... Wait, two identical secret rooms, two similar watches, two apartments. Don't tell me,"

Adrian turned, then stood staring at the wall that kept making noise from something hitting it hard. Adrian approached the wall and pressed his ear against it.

"Ouch," a girl next door groaned.

"Oh, that's right, there was a high school uniform. Auntie couldn't possibly still be in high school, but the apartment must belong to Auntie too... and that girl is the donor recipient... huh?" Adrian wondered to himself, pressing both palms against the wall.

"Dling," a message came in on Adrian's smartphone, which was on the table. He immediately jumped over the sofa and sat down, then picked up his smartphone. It turned out the message was from Kelvin, saying that Jimmy's wife's apartment unit was right next door to him, and her wife's name was Irene. Adrian immediately called Kelvin.

"Hello, Adrian?" Kelvin asked.

"Doctor, is the donor recipient a high school girl?" Adrian asked directly.

"Um... yes, she's in high school now," Kelvin replied.

"So she lives next door to me?" Adrian asked.

"Yes, that's right," Kelvin replied.

"What's her name?" Adrian asked.

"Her name is Elsa Widiastuti," Kelvin replied.

"Elsa Widiastuti, huh," Adrian mused.

"Sorry, Adrian, I have a patient. Later, okay?" Kelvin said.

After hanging up, Adrian turned back to the wall. He immediately intended to meet Elsa. He walked to the door, but when he held the doorknob,

"Then what do I say when I meet her? 'Hi, my heart is your heart's husband,' something like that? If I'm wrong, it'd be so embarrassing, right? Then what? Say this: 'Hello, my heart has a message for you: I'm sorry for divorcing your heart.' Even more exaggerated. Ugh, now I'm just confused. What should I do?" Adrian wondered.
