Chapter 37 - Returning to the Noctvain estate (2)

Thalia was shocked to see Aether possess such deep knowledge of magic.

Even her father, one of the Ten Supremes who had reached the Grand Mage Realm, a realm equal to the Sword God Realm that Aether's father had attained, could not discern what kind of magic circle Thalia's brother used.

"I have a fiancée, Cierra von Ophelia. Her family originated from the Elf Kingdom, so as a result, I have some knowledge about magic circles and other related arts."

This was a lie. Aether had learned spellcraft from his master. In his past life, he studied under many teachers who taught him a wide range of arts.

"Ahhhh." Thalia realized the Ophelia family had the finest magical formulas and purer mana than any other in the Empire. The Ravenfall family was far stronger, but Ophelia possessed a better understanding of mana.

Even so, they didn't know much about this particular mana, as her father had already sought their help.

"But they said..." Thalia was about to say that the Ophelia family had declined to help, finding the mana too complex. But Aether cut her off.

"Let me see the mana."

"...yes, please." Thalia handed him the sphere containing her brother's mana.

Aether observed the swirling energy, then said with a smile,

"I'm too busy to research this. But if you meet someone I know and get him to agree to help you, your brother could regain consciousness in one month."

"Oh Really? Who is this man, then?" Thalia asked in a hopeful tone.

The man Aether was referring to was none other than one of his masters from his past life.

"He is currently at...." Before he could finish his words, the glass-like ball in his hand cracked slightly.

Crack!

Both of them simultaneously looked at the glass ball that was storing the mana interfering with Thalia's brother's consciousness.

The dark mana swirled violently, as if trying to break out.

Then suddenly, the Abyssal energy in Aether's body reacted.

In front of his abdomen, the Abyssal energy materialized. And the glass ball shattered.

Crack!

The mana sample from the glass ball was sucked into the Abyssal energy, which had formed into a black hole.

"Whaat!!!" Thalia's eyes widened in shock.

Vwooomphh!

The Abyssal energy completely absorbed the mana sample and then vanished into thin air.

Even Aether was confused to see this happen.

In his past life, he didn't have this Abyssal energy. It awakened before he exploded. After regression, it suddenly awakened again.

Aether then looked at the glass ball that had contained it. Inside was a magic crystal.

The magic crystal was the medium that bound the mana inside it, so she could carry the mana from place to place.

Thalia looked at Aether with eyes filled with hope and said,

"Your mysterious mana can absorb this corrupt mana. That means you can just absorb the mana interfering with my brother's recovery!"

Aether had the same thought.

"I think so," he said, though he wasn't sure.

On the other hand, Thalia started crying. For one year, she had felt guilty for being a burden to her brother, so she wanted to help him.

Thus, she went to the White Magic Tower for help. But they said it would take one year and many resources. With few options left, she considered accepting their help.

But then she saw Aether, who had completely healed his severed arms.

In the empire, people could only reattach severed body parts, no one could regrow them instantly like Aether did.

So she thought Aether could heal her brother's legs, and the White Magic Tower could remove the corrupt mana.

But if Aether could just absorb the mana, then it would take only a couple of days for her brother's full recovery.

Thalia then clapped her hands together and spoke in a crying voice,

"Please help my brother, Aether."

She then fell to her knees and begged for his help.

"Please, please, please."

Meanwhile, Aether was confused about what to say. It would be a great backup if he could gain Ravenfall's support, but he wasn't sure if the treatment would succeed, and he couldn't even control this Abyssal energy.

"Thalia, let me be frank. I can only heal my own severed body parts, I can't heal someone else. I was going to ignore you until your family took you away. But since you saw my mana absorb the corrupt mana, I hope I can absorb your brother's corrupt mana. Still, I'm not sure, as I can't control it."

Aether told her the truth.

But rather than being disappointed, she grabbed his hands and cried as if she were grateful.

"But if I succeed, I want something!" Aether wasn't doing this for free, so he stated his demands.

After hearing his demands, she was shocked but eventually accepted.

Thus, the journey continued, and they finally arrived at the Noctvain estate.

"Young lord, we have arrived." As the carriage stopped, a guard on horseback came to the window and told him they had arrived at the estate.

There were two carriages. One was the Noctvain family carriage that Aether and Thalia were riding in, and the commoner-looking carriage that Thalia had brought.

In that commoner-looking carriage were the left guardian, Thalia's maid, and Noah Bean.

The rest of the warriors from Ravenfall and Noctvain rode horseback, guarding the carriages.

As both carriages stopped, Aether slowly climbed down and looked at the main mansion.

In front of the mansion stood his mother, siblings, his fiancé Cierra, and many others.

Aether's mother then pushed Cierra, and an embarrassed Cierra slowly approached him.

But she suddenly stopped in her tracks. Her eyes were wide in shock.

Not just her. Everyone in the Noctvain family was surprised to see someone behind Aether.

It was Thalia von Ravenfall.

Everyone present was captivated by her beauty. Some people's hearts were beating fast at the sight of her majestic presence.

Even Aether's triplet brothers were stunned by her beauty.

As everyone admired her, Aether's mother shouted in a heartbroken tone. Her expression showed she was terrified.

"Aaaaaaaaaa... My son has brought his another wife!"
