Chapter 123 - BUTZ: Chapter 123

Kurosaki Isshin, his eyes filled with gratitude, looked at Kyōraku Callum and Urahara Kisuke. "Hold on, no need for thanks," Kyōraku Callum

Kurosaki Isshin, his eyes filled with gratitude, looked at Kyōraku Callum and Urahara Kisuke.

"Hold on, no need for thanks," Kyōraku Callum interrupted, adding, "Just so you know, little Kūkaku will be taking the Kyōraku name from now on."

He offered this preemptive clarification.

Kurosaki Isshin let out a hearty laugh. "Ha ha! Of course. As long as little Kūkaku is willing, I have no objections. Callum, we will never forget your kindness to the Shiba family!"

At that moment, Urahara Kisuke interjected, pouring cold water on their celebratory mood.

"Now's not the time for celebrations. If the Quincy's Schrift is activated, Masaki's Quincy power will still be taken. Then, this temporal power alone won't be enough to suppress the Hollowfication. Soul suicide will still occur."

Kurosaki Isshin's face tightened with worry. "What do we do then?"

Urahara Kisuke tapped the research table rhythmically. "Perhaps we can create a second heart container. Two portions of temporal power—what do you think?" He looked towards Kyōraku Callum.

Kyōraku Callum considered this, then responded thoughtfully. "Acceleration and deceleration are opposites, yet both belong to temporal power. The plan is feasible!"

Urahara Kisuke's eyes gleamed, his researcher's spirit rekindled. "Then I need to prepare."

Kyōraku Callum, however, cut him off with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Prepare? Two identical containers will suffice. It's simply a matter of introducing opposing temporal energies into the soul."

Having assisted with nearly four hundred research attempts, Kyōraku Callum had a firm grasp of the underlying principles.

"After the Quincy power is lost, temporal power can mitigate the Hollowfication's effects. We just repeat the process during that window."

Urahara Kisuke's face fell, and he muttered with a hint of disappointment, "It's a shame, I've only just begun this research!" He quickly recovered, adding, "But creating another container won't take much time." This look of genuine concern was quite unusual for Urahara Kisuke.

The Kurosakis, expressing their gratitude, departed, their lives returning to a semblance of normalcy.

Kyōraku Callum hadn't revealed all the potential drawbacks, but he assumed Kurosaki Isshin was intelligent enough to deduce them.

The inability to prevent the loss of Kurosaki Masaki's Quincy power meant she would become an ordinary human once the Schrift activated. Assisting her in regaining that power was no longer his direct concern; he felt he'd already done his part.

The world continued its progression, and Kyōraku Callum, with his current abilities, couldn't prevent the Schrift's activation.

"Oh well," Kyōraku Callum sighed, exhaling slowly, before turning and heading back to the Urahara Shop.

Three years later, Kurosaki Masaki lost her Quincy powers.

Kyōraku Callum, upon receiving a communication from Urahara Kisuke, swiftly returned to the Urahara Shop to assist with the implantation of a new power source.

"Deceleration and acceleration," Urahara Kisuke murmured, his gaze deep and thoughtful as he observed the heart container gradually turning red after the two temporal energies were collected. "Callum…"

Kyōraku Callum looked up at Urahara Kisuke, noticing his hesitant expression.

"Nothing, just a passing thought," Urahara Kisuke said, shaking his head, and began the process of infusing the heart container with the prepared energies.

Soul surgery demanded the utmost caution, even for Urahara Kisuke, despite his extensive experience.

Since Masaki's soul was now indistinguishable from that of a normal human, meticulous care was paramount.

Time ticked by. Kurosaki Isshin waited anxiously outside.

Kyōraku Callum maintained a calm composure, his expression unchanged. He'd done everything he could; the remainder was in Urahara Kisuke's capable hands.

Three hours later, Urahara Kisuke emerged from the research facility, his face still bearing a confident smile.

"Isshin, the surgery is complete. As you wished, Hollowfication is suppressed, and her soul has returned to its normal state."

Kurosaki Isshin, his expression filled with profound gratitude, murmured, "Thank you."

He then turned and rushed into the research facility.

Urahara Kisuke turned to Kyōraku Callum, a subtle smile playing on his lips.

"Callum, when are you planning to begin your plan?"

Kyōraku Callum's lips curled into a smirk, revealing his teeth.

"Indeed, you always notice everything. We'll wait a little longer. We are, after all, playing the endgame."

The Masaki incident was merely a minor, insignificant blip in the grand scheme of things, as far as Kyōraku Callum was concerned.

Time continued its relentless march.
