Chapter 280 - Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon

Chapter 18 — Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon

A crushing wave of energy erupted from Boros, shaking the entire space around him as if his sheer power had taken physical form. The surrounding atmosphere warped violently; the reinforced alloys of the alien warship began to buckle and lift under the sheer intensity of the pressure.

In the blink of an eye, Boros's body—now completely engulfed in blinding violet light—transformed into a beam of pure energy, streaking straight toward Zenin Kyūjō.

But Kyūjō remained calm. Holding his massive radiant sword in one hand, he twisted his body slightly and met the oncoming attack head-on—with a single punch.

A thunderous explosion followed. The clash created a storm of metallic debris and shockwaves that rippled across the void. In less than a second, Boros—whose body had just turned into light—was blasted backward with even greater speed, hurled through the ship's outer hull and out into the emptiness of space.

Blood sprayed violently from his mouth and wounds as he spun away, his body ravaged by a single blow.

With just one casual strike, Zenin Kyūjō had gravely wounded the so-called Dominator of the Universe.

But Boros's alien physiology was far from ordinary. His body, forged for battle across galaxies, began knitting itself back together almost instantly. Wounds that would have annihilated any mortal healed within seconds, muscle and tissue regenerating with unnatural speed.

Kyūjō, lightly tapping his foot against the floor, pushed off and soared through the air, following Boros into the vast silence of space.

Now their battlefield had shifted completely—away from the fragile blue planet below, out into the glittering void between stars.

It was intentional.

Kyūjō wanted to keep the Earth safe. And more importantly… he was intrigued by the alien ship itself. If it could be preserved, he intended to do so.

— — —

Inside the ship, chaos reigned.

Tatsumaki, Genos, and Sweet Mask tore through squad after squad of alien soldiers, leaving only smoldering wreckage behind them. At last, they confronted two of the ship's elite commanders—Melzargard and Groribas.

The first to speak was a grotesque, humanoid creature with a massive fanged mouth where its face should have been—and two more gaping maws on each of its arms.

"I can't believe you insects made it this far… But now that you've reached me—Groribas—your journey ends here!"

Beside him, Melzargard, a flesh-colored monstrosity with five writhing heads and enormous pink wings, sneered impatiently.

"Enough talk, Groribas. Stop wasting time. Just kill them already."

The cold authority in Melzargard's voice silenced him immediately. Even Groribas knew better than to argue; no one could win against a creature as immortal as Melzargard.

Without another word, the three gaping mouths on Groribas's body opened wide and unleashed torrents of corrosive acid, raining down on the heroes below.

Tatsumaki merely sighed in disdain and raised one hand. The acid froze midair, suspended by invisible force.

"Spitting is for children," she said flatly. "Here—let me return it."

With a flick of her wrist, the deadly fluid was hurled back toward its owners.

"What—?!" Groribas screamed.

They had no time to dodge.

The boiling acid splashed over them, and agony filled the air.

Within seconds, Groribas's monstrous body dissolved into a puddle of his own melted flesh, his shrieks fading into silence.

Melzargard, partially melted and writhing in pain, roared in fury. His body split apart into five separate forms, each sprouting wings as he lunged toward the trio like a swarm of demons.

Inside his mind, panic flickered.

Geryuganshoop… hurry! There's a powerful Psychic here—Groribas is already dead!

— — —

Elsewhere, in the ship's control chamber, the massive octopus-like alien—Geryuganshoop, the telekinetic master of the cosmos—received the distress call.

Without hesitation, he activated his psychic propulsion and darted toward the battlefield at lightning speed.

— — —

Meanwhile, several hundred kilometers away from the ship, the battle between Zenin Kyūjō and Boros raged across the void.

Kyūjō, still gripping his enormous Starforce blade, was clearly toying with his opponent.

Boros, now in his ultimate form—Meteoric Burst—radiated an intense white aura that burned brighter than starlight. From every movement of his hands, he unleashed devastating energy blasts, hurling them like a meteor storm that filled the expanse of space.

But despite the relentless barrage, Boros didn't dare close the distance.

Every time he had tried, Kyūjō had shattered his body—over thirty times—without even breaking a sweat.

Zenin Kyūjō was a true close-quarters monster. His strength and precision were absolute.

And for the first time in his long, lonely life, Boros understood what it meant to stand before overwhelming power.

No matter what type of energy or technique he unleashed, it was all effortlessly sliced apart.

If not for his alien regeneration, his spirit would have already crumbled.

This wasn't a duel. It was an execution.

Two decades of interstellar travel—just to be humiliated like this?

The realization seared through his pride like fire.

At last, his frustration and desperation ignited into madness. Boros roared, summoning every shred of life force within him.

His body trembled under the strain. This was his final gamble—his last attack.

The ultimate move that would consume everything he was.

"Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon!!"

Blood dripped from his lips as his palms glowed brighter than the sun. He gathered all his life energy, compressing it into a single blinding sphere of destruction.

Then, with a roar that shook the cosmos, he fired.

A beam of annihilation shot forth—so brilliant it dwarfed the stars, aimed directly at Zenin Kyūjō, who stood before Earth.

It was an apocalyptic strike, a planetary erasure beam that could vaporize the entire surface of the world.

If it wasn't stopped, humanity itself would cease to exist.

In that moment, Boros had transcended the Dragon level—reaching the very edge of the God-level threshold.

Yet Kyūjō simply smiled faintly.

That's more like it…

If you call yourself the ruler of the universe, then at least you should be capable of this.

Calmly, he raised his sword—an immense forty-meter blade of rainbow light that shone brighter than the stars themselves.

"Cut," he said softly.

The void quaked.

A silent ripple tore through space as his blade descended.

When the two forces collided, reality itself seemed to split apart. The explosion that followed sent waves of energy rolling across the galaxy. The warship in the distance trembled violently, its metal frame groaning from the force.

But behind Zenin Kyūjō—Earth remained untouched.

The small blue world, so fragile amid the endless cosmos, was shielded completely by a single man.

Zenin Kyūjō—the man who split the heavens and stood between existence and oblivion.
